What an amazing pub. Beautifully prepared food with delightful, interesting and well cooked vegetables. We had the roast dinner but there were plenty of other options which looked equally delicious. Very generous portion sizes and very reasonably priced considering the high quality of food. The service was prompt and friendly, the landlord has only been there 5 months and he’s done a terrific job. We did a really lovely walk from the pub over the moor and to the reservoir. All in all it was a lovely day out.

Had a party for a retirement celebration.
There were 14 of us and we complicated things with last minute changes to numbers due to sickness.
Staff couldn’t do enough and everything went very well and smoothly.
They re-set the table and made space for 2 prams for our newborn babies.
Nathan was our allocated waiter and took the time to go over the changes to the pre orders, last minute changes and allergies to ensure they were all correct.
Great food and service.
Lovely atmosphere too.
A wonderful afternoon.

Went for lunch on a busy Monday. Service from Matt was fantastic, despite the place being full. Plenty of staff working. Food was delicious, lots of vegan and vegetarian options for my partner as well. Very pet friendly, with small and large dog beds at the front door and a bowl of water for the pooch. Reasonable price too. Would recommend.

Sadly not up to the normal standards. I had the lamb and couldn’t eat any of it. The one carrot was good but the cabbage tough. I had crème brûlée for my dessert, the small amount of it I had tasted nice but the top was soft and I just felt it had been mad in a rush.

I had a carvery here and I can honestly say it was one of the best i have had in a long time. If you’re not fancying a carvery they have their very own stone baked oven where you can have a pizza of your choice! I would highly recommend and the service we had from Sandra w was top notch! I called in this afternoon for a takeaway oatcake. Sharon gave me such a warm welcome I decided to have 5, and eat in with a cup of tea! The oatcake and tea were amazing, and both Sharon and her daughter Amy were so friendly it felt like I was sitting with friends. I then ordered a take away for my son & his girlfriend, they had a pulled pork baguette and smash burger with wedges. I delivered them to the office and they both said how amazing the food was. Not only great food but a very welcoming, friendly and exceptionally clean place. Lovely to meet you both, and thanks for making me feel comfortable xxxx

What an absolute treasure trove, a feast for the eyes. You have to go. The landlord Alan has been collecting antiques and collectibles for 63 years. Including a 3000 year old Egyptian jug and a pair of stocking, which once belonged to queen Victoria. A warm welcome and pastries are served at the bar. It's a must visit.

Extremely delicious, well presented food, at a fair price. Compliments to the Chef.
The two of us, had whiskey pork belly. Perfect. Service was attentive, yet unobtrusive. Staff are friendly and mindful.
We ate outside, as was a lovely evening.
Inside is contemporary and very clean.
Didn't make a reservation, but have a feeling your safest doing so.
Highly recommended, will be visiting in future.

The staff are friendly and there is a good selection of food for everyone in my family, anyway and we are a 50-50 split with vegetarians we all found a good selection of food that everyone enjoyed plus my all-time favorite food a really nice and tasty fish and chips what was all washed down with a nice pint of real Beer so I recon I'll be back again for sure and I have no problem recommending the Bleeding Wolf to anyone, and it was nice to see other families with their own nice loud kids there as well marvelous and my compliment to the chef and all the other staff who were all on top of their game and well worth a tip from this old geezer.

I had fish and chips here from the £6.95 menu on a weekday afternoon.
The food was good quality, very nicely cooked and excellent value.
The chips are particularly good, but the fish batter and fish itself were equally good and the batter was nice and crispy.
No soggy fish batter.
I have full confidence that the kitchen staff are accomplished cooks.
However, the car journey to get here when within a mile or two of the pub is tortuous and tricky - for example a stretch of the Hollow is a busy narrow lane with few passing places which more often than not requires reversing to let oncoming cars through, which is a nightmare!
Then on the final approach to the pub the lane is narrow with parked cars and you have to navigate oncoming traffic.
There is also a tendency for cars to speed in the area of Mow Cop which is scary if you are a safe driver.
