3 Shortbridge St, NewtownFirst time ordering from Baba Ali’s today. The lads were incredibly friendly to everyone who came in and had our large order ready very quickly and even gave us a large bottle of pop on the house which was very kind. The food was really good too, 1 chicken burger, 3 beef burger, chicken donor and garlic bread, all hot and really nice! Will definitely order from you again- thank you ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was starving after a long day at the Royal Welsh and thought a curry would help sustain me on the long drive home to the top left corner of the country. I made the right decision.
I had lamb dhansak, plain rice and a peshawar naan with a bottle of Kingfisher to help it on its way. This is my default meal so while I'm not a chef, I feel I'm well placed to compare.
The total bill including poppadom was a little over £20. That's mor than I'd normally spend on myself but it was well worth it. The meat was just the right side of falling apart, the sauce had just the right amount of sweetness, the rice was beautifully fluffy and the naan was excellent.
I don't remember whether there was music playing so it can't have been too loud if there was.
Service was maybe a shade too attentive for my liking but I think it would be unfair to dock a star for that.
All in all, an almost unheard-of 5 stars. If you're anywhere near y Drenewydd, I very much recommend a visit

Newtown Kebab House
12 Shortbridge St, NewtownWe visited Powys for vacation. Randomly chose an underrated spot in Powys. We found this gem in Newtown (middle of the place), HALAL place (except for the Ham and Peperoni ingredients which they handle and keep separately for pizzas). Excellent spot, great customer service, exceptional food. Way Better than most kebab places in London ?.
We ordered a Pizza, Chicken Kebab twice in a span of 2 days stay here in Powys. That's how delicious it was. Very delighted to have come across the staff members, very hospitable and welcoming gentlemen.
Cleanliness, again, impressed by the fact that it was a hell of a difference when it comes to comparing a larger city pizza shops, very very clean.
Would 100% recommend everyone visiting the nearby areas to get food if you don't want to cook at home. You won't be disappointed.

16A Broad St, NewtownDecided to call in as on our way back from a holiday in mid Wales, for breakfast, after reading others reviews, easy enough to find, though parking is a bit hit & miss along the road, 1hr max stay, not sure where other carparks are ?.
We got there late morning, but still decided to have the full breakfast, was lovely & hot & tasty, along with tea & coffee.
Highly recommend, good value, prompt & friendly service.
Definitely worth a visit if traveling through & want a filling tasty hot breakfast ??

Bear Lanes, 13, NewtownStumbled across this cafe and we were very happy to find it. There were 8 of us and a dog, but the staff were quick to give us a table and get us settled. The food was wonderful, all dishes came out quickly, very tasty and large portions. Even the dog got a bowl of water and a sausage on the house! Highly recommend

The staff where helpful & was happy to serve us . We ended up with cakes & sausage rolls aswell as our sandwich. Would definately recommend the selection of food& drinks is exceptional

Brickdale House, Wesley St, NewtownIt's been a few years since I last visited The Lantern, So I thought I would give it a go. Really glad that I did, as the food & service were as great as I remembered. Tried the Crispy Beef with salt, pepper & chilli, and it was pretty Zingy!
The nice lady had warned me that it was quite spicy, and it hit the spot nicely. Really nice aftertaste following the initial hit, with lovely flavours.
Will be visiting again!

( last few orders at other sites have not been) we wanted to try the Big Arch (medium meal) - it was HUGE - I couldn’t eat my fries - I was so full after only eating half of it. It won’t replace my firm favourites but good to try and it was very good. Staff were helpful, food was hot and was delivered quickly - a great McDonalds in my opinion

Can't fault the place, YPA is a local ale and it was great, 3.50 a pint is unusual these days, locals friendly and good service, would definitely visit again

They knew that I didn't come in for a drink and they found me somewhere quiet to sit after I did a lot of hiking around the village of Kerry The people serving at the bar were polite and easy to talk to.
