We hadn’t tried Sri Lankan food before and really enjoyed it - the waitress was helpful in helping us choose a good selection of the tapas style dishes. We went for 4 to share including a chicken curry, prawn curry, vegetable noodle dish and Asian burgers. We also had a side of coconut rice. The service was good and our food came quickly- the flavours were lovely and fresh. Good value meal in pleasant surroundings.

The pub is under brand new management, so were offering a temporary limited menu, still plenty of choice, and beautifully cooked and presented by Chris, the new landlord. We were a group of six, we all enjoyed the lunches we had.
The new landlord and landlady were wonderful, welcoming, couldn't do enough for us. We have booked lunch there again in two weeks time. Looking forward to seeing the pub go from strength to strength in the weeks to come.

Visited Pizza Express and had a brilliant experience. Our waitress, Tina, was absolutely fantastic attentive, kind, and genuinely friendly throughout our meal. She really made us feel welcome and well looked after.

The food was delicious as always, and the atmosphere was great too relaxed, lively, and perfect for a meal out.

Visited this restaurant on Monday the 29th December for lunch then again in the evening as it seemed the best place to eat in Ilkley.
Both visits we were met with friendly warm staff. It has a good atmosphere and attentive staff. We were served by Jade and Mark both were very welcoming and a credit to the restaurant. We will definitely return when we next visit Ilkley.?

Had afternoon tea for my wife's 60tb birthday with a number of friends.

Although it a bit of a journey from home for an afternoon tea we have been each year on my wife's birthday for the last 3 years.

The staff are always so friendly and the afternoon tea is one of the best we have ever had, with very genious portions, good job doggy bags were available. Perhaps a few more savoury items would be nice

For the previous 2 years we have eaten on the terrace overlooking to beutiful country side where we were allowed to bring our dogs, this year however with bad weather we had to eat inside which mean we had to leave the dogs at home but still a very enjoyable experiance.

While a retirement village resutant is not the first place I would think of for a great afternoon tea, I would thoroughly recommend it,

The other food items look great as well, perhaps an excuse to go back and try more that just an afternoon tea.

I am sure we will continue to visit.

We absolutely love the pizzas from here! They are 1 of the only pizza places round here that have a vegan cheese option unless you want to order from a chain which we don't! Being dairy intolerant and not vegan, I love that I can create my own vegan cheese pizza with meats on it, and it is honestly so delicious! Can't recommend enough.

This was the best kebab I’ve had in my 15 years of eating kebabs. The chips were perfect, the cheese atop most and below was sumptuous. They layered it like a lasagna. Every bite was a treat which left me wanting more. The kebabs meat itself was juicy AF. The sauces balanced the chaos. I woke up thinking about it. Recommend to a friend.

Had a short break in Ilkley and discovered it’s best to book on Sundays and Wednesdays! However, we were fitted in with just a 30minutes wait at 20.30.
The special saimah’s restaurant offers is four courses for £12.95 these evenings.
What a great idea to get people in on slower nights - offer is all year round.
Four courses are:
poppadum and pickle tray
starter
main
rice or naan.
Pickle tray was excellent - two more than are usually offered, poppadum okay but could have been tastier.
We had chicken jalfrezi and chana paneer balti. Both excellent - very happy with my balti as it combined my favourite pulse as it’s such a nutty bean, paneer was plants and all a lovely flavour.
The jalfrezi was ‘the best I’ve tasted’ according to my partner.
Fresh naan and honest pilau rice.
Will return and next time book for an earlier time.

What a fantastic place.. stumbled across this whilst visiting Ilkley and it didn't disappoint. The food was fantastic, nice selection of drinks and a great atmosphere. I don’t mind paying a lot for a top quality experience but I don’t think that’s what we got.\n\nSince our last visit, it felt as if the space had been rearranged to accommodate more people, so it felt crowded, not calm and tranquil.\n\nThe service was very good, as we expected.\n\nSadly the range of coffee was much smaller than on previous visits and the range of cakes was noticeably smaller: what has happened to the Engadine torte and the cake trolley?\n\nIf Bettys are going for the quality experience vibe, they should use cloth napkins rather than paper.\n\nOverall it was nice but not as good as it should have been.

SENSATIONAL!!! wow! I can honestly say that this little gem of a tea room serves the finest English breakfast I have ever tasted, everything is quality, proper butchers sausages and bacon, lovely dark yolk’s in the free range eggs, proper quality butter and first class service to match. This cafe ticks all the boxes. We had a wonderful kind lady who looked after us who was the manager, the best customer service I have received in many years. Thankyou for a top quality experience.

We waited over an hour for our food as the order got mixed up in the kitchen (this was an hour after we had finished our starters) the staff were good at helping, very apologetic.

Never varies in taste and always of a high quality, at around £7 inc 2 chapattis whats not to like ? Been an avid fan for 3 months now and well worth the trip from Otley and back.

The surrounding scenery is absolutely beautiful and makes it a great spot to stop. However, the menu was a little disappointing as it’s quite limited, and sandwiches are only served till 11am.

What a lovely spot!!! Called one cold Thursday afternoon for coffee and cake whilst visiting Ilkley for the first time. Hadn't seen many cafes ( and I refuse to queue outside and pay inflated prices of a certain other cafe in the area!!) when we spotted this by the car park.The cafe was lovely and warm. It is really quite big with some of the tables being out in an old, covered arcade. There were even blankets out here for the more colder days. There are tables for two or four then longer tables for larger groups. The tables and floor were spotless, the staff were welcoming.Our coffee was good and hot and full of flavour and the coffee cake was a proper Yorkshire size!!There are some vegan options - plus ice cream for dogs! And I saw a lady come for take away.It wasn't until I started looking at the boards in the arcade that I realised it was a Community type cafe and I started to take more notice. It was wonderful to see the adults working together! What a fabulous place!So, if it does take a minute or two longer for your food to arrive , don't moan , just think how lovely it is that people with disabilities are being given the opportunity to be trained up for a job! The beautiful young lady that served us couldn't have been more pleasant!! She had a constant smile on her face!! How gorgeous! She looked so proud to be working - and so she should be!Two words of warning - you do need to pay by card ( not a problem to the vast majority of people ) and, I've been told, they sell out of scones quickly on busy days!!So, if you give them a visit remember - There is still some good things happening in this world !❤️❤️❤️Ps we added £1, as a donation , to our bill and they were so genuinely pleased. We won't miss the £1 but it means a lot to them.

My first time at Emporio for lunch today with my wife & daughter, who have both been before, and raved about their last visit. I think they were both worried they’d built it up too much and the food wouldn’t be as good as last time. There was no need to worry, I loved everything about the restaurant.
It’s small, I’d guess maybe 20-22 covers at a time, but that’s part of their charm. There’s a warm welcome when you arrive, then once settled with drinks one of the owners sons explains the menu off the blackboard to everyone at once, which is a nice touch. I’d say there are six or seven mains to choose from, and a couple of starters (the menu changes daily) with bread and olives brought to each table to keep you going (the two dips with this are amazing)
The first course came out quite quickly, which was a shared stuffed pepper starter between the three of us (delicious)
Next I went with the “world famous” lasagne, the owner/chefs’ signature dish. I have to say, if this lasagne isn’t in fact world famous, it should be! Having an Italian mother-in-law who used to make an excellent lasagne, I’m usually a little put off trying anyone else’s, but this signature dish was superb and very similar to the homemade version I was used to (both my mother-in-law and the Chef are from Calabria)
I finished off with an apple tart and chocolate ice cream and a double espresso, both of which were excellent.
All in all a great lunch at a great restaurant that I would highly recommend to anyone.
