Biryanish catered food for our family function. Our guests enjoyed the food very much. They were kindly accommodating our last minute changes without any hesitation.

The young gentleman who was serving the food was very helpful, caring and treated us like own family whilst we were going through the difficult time. We had more guests than we thought we'd have, but we still had enough food and leftovers.

Took my favourite summer rolls as a starter, they were fantastic. Rich taste of peanut sauce perfectly combined with mild taste of the prawns. Delicious! As a main I had steak pho, it was yummy. I was really happy with generous amount of well done steak. Noodles were cooked perfectly, they were not overdone and melted in my mouth. I would also like to mention Margherita, who was really friendly and helpful, she even helped me to charge my phone. Great service! Thank you guys.

It was my first visit to this cafe. I was happy to see the Food Hygiene Rating of 5 on the door, which is dated Sept 2024. I was greeted by a friendly staff member with a smile and it made me feel very welcome.

I ordered a Create Your Own Breakfast. I chose my 5 items from a good selection of items on their menu board. The lady then mentioned that it comes with a Tea or Coffee. As I don’t drink either Tea or Coffee, I asked whether I could have a Hot Chocolate instead. I was surprised to be told that I would have to pay £2.75 extra in full for a regular cup of Hot Chocolate, rather than the difference between the cost of a Tea/Coffee (£1.50) and the Hot Chocolate (£2.75), of which the difference would have been £1.25. (Which is what I am used to at other cafes I have visited).

As I felt that this was unfair and I wasn’t prepared to pay the £2.75 in full, I had my breakfast without a drink, which again wasn’t what I would have wanted, as I would have really appreciated a drink accompanyjng my Full English Breakfast.

I personally would have expected to pay an extra £1.00 or £1.50 maximum for the UPGRADE from a Tea/Coffee and the Hot Chocolate, as that would have been a better option as that is what other cafes in my local area would have done.

After my meal, she gave me a QR code to leave a review, so as it was my first visit and I visit Reading regularly, I thought I should be honest and leave a constructive review. I hope that they take this minor issue on board for my next visit.

Ultimately, I would be happy to eat here again as the food and service was great and it seems quite a popular place. 4 out of 5 from me, it would have been 5 out of 5, if it wasn’t for the pricing issue on the upgrade to the hot chocolate.

Had a great experience at the monkey lounge, ana was a great bartender providing exceptional customer service skills and a friendly demeanour. The Guinness was perfect with a perfect head and no bubbles in the foam, the taste was perfect with a perfect balance of thickness and creaminess.

Have regular brunches at the playlist, personally not a fan of the newer brunch menu I much preferred the English breakfast option than the burgers but other than that another brilliant night.
Ellie behind the bar was fabulous and made sure our drinks were kept filled as our host wasn’t the fastest but she stepped up and was brilliant.
And Kelly as always was her usual Vibey self and brought the moves with her always with a smile.
Definitely missed Natalie but I’m sure she will be there hyping it up at the next brunch.
Always look forward to a good brunch at playlist ,already working out dates for the next one :)

First went here a couple of months ago to scope it out as a catering option for our engagement party. Food was extremely fresh and flavourful.

So we booked them to cater the engagement party. They communicated with us clearly before hand, delivered on time, were extremely gracious, and the food itself was excellent and absolutely the same quality and freshness as when eaten at restaurant. Lovely fluffy garlic naans, tender lamb karahi, juicy chicken shashlik, piping hot and spicy samosas and pakoras...

My family are from Pakistan and I was raised in the west midlands not far from Birmingham (where the best curry in the UK can be found). So my standards for south asian food are very high. Not many places in Reading can reach those standards but Zyka really, really does.

We recently ordered a bunch of food for a corporate event, and I was really impressed. Everything was packed perfectly and arrived warm, which was a nice surprise. The flavors were fantastic, and everyone loved the food. The samosas were a huge hit, and the pav bhaji was not only delicious but also well-packaged. And let’s not forget the sweet gulab jamun—so tasty! Huge thanks to Gopi for being so accommodating with all the dietary needs and for offering discounts along with timely delivery. I always have a great time when visiting, Graham, Paul and the team are welcoming, fun, friendly and always on hand to help.
If you like sports they have plenty of TV's and there is something always on. Family and dog friendly (dog's get table service :-))
The food is great I recommend the chicken wings, they are the most best.

My family, 18 of us, had the yearly gathering here at the The Elm Tree, Beech Hill yesterday. Everything went well and was enjoyed by all of us including my 3 year old granddaughter and 5 year old grandson. We sat outside while everyone arrived. We had an airy room with a huge table.
