The staff was very friendly and made sure we have everything we need. Don't waste your money on other cheaper Fish and Chips shops because we tried and regret it.

Parsons Corner, N Shoebury Rd, Shoeburyness, Southend-on-SeaWe visited here on Sunday 7th September and there were 5 of us.
We all ordered different starters mains deserts and all of us loved the food.
Staff very friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere was really good as well.
Would recommend 100 per cent.
Definitely over that way again will go back.

Came here for the first time in ages.
Had a quick look at the menu - it's changed, but that's fine.
Having decided what we were having, we put the menus back in the rack and waited to order.
We were at almost the nearest table to the counter, and we were obviously ready to order (I made eye contact with one of the waitresses several times) but still we waited. We had to wait until the 3 waitresses at the desk had finished their little chat....
Hubby ordered the regular breakfast, I ordered the breakfast stack, as I wasn't as hungry.
The food arrived pretty quickly as it wasn't too busy at the time (it did start to fill up, though, as we sat there)
Hubby's breakfast arrived on quite a small plate, so he had to take his toast off and put it on his napkin, as it was all too crammed on the plate to eat very easily. The food all tasted fine.
My stack arrived on a bit of slate (I would definitely have preferred an actual plate).
The stack consisted of 2 slices of very thick granary bread - nice, but way too much for a sandwich.
(I left half the bread as it was such heavy going)
The filling was very nice and generous.
It was accompanied by a pile of salad (who has salad for breakfast at 9.30 on a Sunday morning?) - I left that, too.
Overall, all the food was very nice, but maybe you just need to have a word with your staff, and maybe have a think about the other issues I mentioned.
Sorry, but it's just not as good as it used to be.

I had an amazing experience at this cozy spot in Indiana! The food was absolutely delicious — we ordered the Chicken Khazana, Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Shashlik with rice, Chicken Tikka, and naan. Every dish was packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming — cozy without being cramped, and great for a relaxed meal. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better.
Highly recommend this place if you’re craving authentic Indian food. I’ll definitely be coming back!

24-26 London Rd, Southend-on-SeaFamily of 3 meal on Monday night, quick to order and receive food, delicious chicken and friendly staff. There was a teen party taking place which made the space a little louder that usual, but this is understandable.
The food really was delicious, not eaten in Nando's for many years but was very happy with the service. portions and quality of food for myself, my partner and my 2 1/2 year old son .
Always good, fresh
There are booths for some more secluded dining if you wish. Very clean and a great casual atmosphere.

A 3 course meal complete with a piper and a proper addressing of the Haggis. Food was spectacular, the addition of creamed leeks to the haggis, neeps and tatties was a standout. The Crannachan was fantastic too. Got chatting to the lovely owner and it’s clear she takes a lot of pride in and takes a great deal of care in making the restaurant a success. We’ll definitely be returning.

Western Approach, Southend-on-SeaWe came here today following seeing a recommendation on a local Facebook page and weren’t disappointed! My wife said the roast was one of the best she’s had, my burger and chips were amazing and the children’s menu had plenty of variety and put fussy daughter loved the Mac and cheese and chocolate brownie and ice cream. Bull Inn Hockley
99 Main Rd, HockleyWe visited The Bull for a birthday meal recently - it wasn't our first visit, but it was our first time back since the refurbishment. I was hopeful it had hung onto it's charm and character - I need not have worried. All the low beams and wooden panels were back in evidence, a lovely homely feel throughout the whole building.
We were served by Ally, a lovely lady whose knowledge of the menu was surpassed only by her dry wit and sense of fun. The whole table was immediately at ease with her, very helpful and obliging.
And the food was terrific - only one of our party ordered the roast (much to Ally's surprise and consternation!), but she thoroughly enjoyed it. We also sampled the steak, a sea bass dish and their duo of chicken - all excellent. Always the sign of a good restaurant when nearly everyone orders something different, but not one of them leaves disappointed. Good value, delicious meals and prompt, friendly service - couldn't ask for more!

It was continually 4 people deep all the way along the bar waiting to get served, or a very long queue outside in the garden which couldn't be helped as it was so busy. The staff must've been shattered lol. We had scampi and chips later on in the afternoon which was lovely. The queue for food was much shorter. Really good friendly atmosphere.

32-35 Eastern Esplanade, Southend-on-SeaWe were looking for a seafood restaurant and came across this hidden gem, well worth a visit if in the area. Fresh ingredients, unique flavours and decent value for money.
Beverages were good especially the cocktails.
Food wise - Our favourite was the seafood boil ? messy, flavourful and extremely tasty. Firecracker prawns was another fave and good portion sizes. Garlic bread was divine and the best we've ever eaten.
Service could have been better as we would have ordered more drinks if the waitrons checked in more frequently. It was a big bill and the waitress was rude and did not want to add the tip to the bill citing they do not get the tips. That put a dampener on a really good dining experience.
Either way will visit again soon.

4 Coast Rd, West Mersea, ColchesterFood was lovely and good portions. However my friend has a dairy allergy which we made aware to the staff. Unfortunately there was no dietary information and she couldn’t tell us which foods or sauces had dairy in so my friend was unable to eat these. We had two babies with us and another family had a baby and we all asked for a highchair but they said they didn’t have any so we had to go back to the car and get their prams to eat in which wasn’t ideal. Apart from the lack of dietary information and high chairs, it was a really lovely restaurant!

The range of set breakfasts is a highlight and the baguettes are good too. I've not tried one but having seen them served up, the salads look great as well. Prices are very fair. Nice to have the option to sit outside too on a nice day.

Someone came after few min and did half of our checkout then had to leave to sort something. Before leaving she shouted at our waitress for ignoring us. Only then our waitress stopped chatting and sorted out our bill. It was dead quiet as well so I don't know why it was so bad ?. Food was good!

I had enough points for a foot long sub that made my evening. Only 4 stars because I had to wait outside as the poor staff guy had to lock the door to use the toilet as people have walked in and robbed stuff before when he doesn't. Not his fault at all though. He was polite, hygienic, and efficient. It's a shame that businesses in 2024 still function with the solo worker gig. What if something happens to him? Sort it out.

We ordered table service and manager Ryan was fantastic, he’s the first person at a McDonald’s to check we had everything we needed and offered ketchup and sugars which never happens. Fantastic customer service!! All staff always looked happy in lobby and promptly cleaned tables and made sure there was always seating available. Again a rarity in McDonald’s.

The atmosphere was the cherry on top, the place just oozes class and the staff are extremely friendly. Exactly where you want to be on a Sunday. I’ll definitely be back soon.

274 Main Rd, Hawkwell, HockleyVery nice pub, the beer garden and 70s and 80s soul afternoon was really good. The weather was great and so it was absolutely rammed in there. It was continually 4 people deep all the way along the bar waiting to get served, or a very long queue outside in the garden which couldn't be helped as it was so busy. The staff must've been shattered lol. We had scampi and chips later on in the afternoon which was lovely. The queue for food was much shorter. Really good friendly atmosphere.

Parsons Corner, N Shoebury Rd, Shoeburyness, Southend-on-SeaWe visited here on Sunday 7th September and there were 5 of us.
We all ordered different starters mains deserts and all of us loved the food.
Staff very friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere was really good as well.
Would recommend 100 per cent.
Definitely over that way again will go back.

Came here for the first time in ages.
Had a quick look at the menu - it's changed, but that's fine.
Having decided what we were having, we put the menus back in the rack and waited to order.
We were at almost the nearest table to the counter, and we were obviously ready to order (I made eye contact with one of the waitresses several times) but still we waited. We had to wait until the 3 waitresses at the desk had finished their little chat....
Hubby ordered the regular breakfast, I ordered the breakfast stack, as I wasn't as hungry.
The food arrived pretty quickly as it wasn't too busy at the time (it did start to fill up, though, as we sat there)
Hubby's breakfast arrived on quite a small plate, so he had to take his toast off and put it on his napkin, as it was all too crammed on the plate to eat very easily. The food all tasted fine.
My stack arrived on a bit of slate (I would definitely have preferred an actual plate).
The stack consisted of 2 slices of very thick granary bread - nice, but way too much for a sandwich.
(I left half the bread as it was such heavy going)
The filling was very nice and generous.
It was accompanied by a pile of salad (who has salad for breakfast at 9.30 on a Sunday morning?) - I left that, too.
Overall, all the food was very nice, but maybe you just need to have a word with your staff, and maybe have a think about the other issues I mentioned.
Sorry, but it's just not as good as it used to be.

I had an amazing experience at this cozy spot in Indiana! The food was absolutely delicious — we ordered the Chicken Khazana, Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Shashlik with rice, Chicken Tikka, and naan. Every dish was packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming — cozy without being cramped, and great for a relaxed meal. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better.
Highly recommend this place if you’re craving authentic Indian food. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Lovely view and shaded from the sun.

The Seafood Shack
32-35 Eastern Esplanade, Southend-on-SeaWe were looking for a seafood restaurant and came across this hidden gem, well worth a visit if in the area. Fresh ingredients, unique flavours and decent value for money.
Beverages were good especially the cocktails.
Food wise - Our favourite was the seafood boil ? messy, flavourful and extremely tasty. Firecracker prawns was another fave and good portion sizes. Garlic bread was divine and the best we've ever eaten.
Service could have been better as we would have ordered more drinks if the waitrons checked in more frequently. It was a big bill and the waitress was rude and did not want to add the tip to the bill citing they do not get the tips. That put a dampener on a really good dining experience.
Either way will visit again soon.

There were quite a few of us in our party, but The Mews staff were on the ball and very attentive, and the cocktails went down a treat!!. Every bite of the food was amazing, everyone loved it, it truly was Michelin quality!! The recipes were thoughtful, and impossible to forget. The staff made the evening effortless, friendly, and fun, while the space itself somehow manages to feel both cozy and special. The menu has something for everyone, portions hit the sweet spot, and leaving hungry isn’t an option. Honestly, it’s one of those rare spots that makes you already plan your next visit on the way out.... I can't wait to go again!!

Cambridge Square Gardens, The Bowling Green Pavilion, Cambridge Road, Clifftown, Southend-on-SeaHad the pleasure of attending a Burns Supper at this lovely establishment last night. A 3 course meal complete with a piper and a proper addressing of the Haggis. Food was spectacular, the addition of creamed leeks to the haggis, neeps and tatties was a standout. The Crannachan was fantastic too. Got chatting to the lovely owner and it’s clear she takes a lot of pride in and takes a great deal of care in making the restaurant a success. We’ll definitely be returning.

The Loyal Toast
Western Approach, Southend-on-SeaWe came here today following seeing a recommendation on a local Facebook page and weren’t disappointed! My wife said the roast was one of the best she’s had, my burger and chips were amazing and the children’s menu had plenty of variety and put fussy daughter loved the Mac and cheese and chocolate brownie and ice cream.
