Toro Lounge
34 Cricklade St, CirencesterReally great atmosphere in here and the staff are attentive, but not overly so like some places. Excellent variety of dishes on the menu. The two we had were delicious - well cooked, presented and seasoned. Couldn't fault it. Will definitely go back.
23/10/2023 we've been back several times and the above review still holds true. Menu had changed a little bit, but still has our favourites on there.
13/08/2025 another visit and another great experience. Change of personnel and variations on the menu but it provides exactly what you expect with no fuss. Two outstanding members of staff - Tom and Harriet - great job both of you.

Hassle Free Weekends - Wedding & Event Catering
Notch Rd, Cirencester. Booked for a joint 80th and 50th birthday dinner in holiday accommodation in Horseley Stroud.
The team arrived on time and amazingly quickly settled in to using a kitchen that even I knew nothing about.
The team were very friendly polite and helpful and went out of their way to make the event very special taking the hassle out of preparing the celebration dinner. The food was incredible.
Thank you for everything and I have no hesitation in recommending Hassle Free Weekends. We are only disappointed that distance we live in West Sussex, would prevent us for booking them again.
I highly recommend Hassle Free Weekends

Pizza Express
28 Castle St, CirencesterThe food was lovely and the waitress that served us was very welcoming and friendly. We had not long finished eating and a different waiter came over and asked if we’d finished eating or if we were still nibbling / did we want to order anything else. We didn’t want to order anything else as we were full but I did want to sit and peacefully finish my wine. However the waiter then asked if we had any rewards and started the bill paying process! To be honest we felt very rushed and it wasn’t a nice end to what had been a really nice meal. The place was not even half full at the time. What a shame.

Malt & Anchor
4 Castle St, CirencesterWe decided to give M&A a go as the reviews have been so good!\n\nWe normally do takeaway for fish and chips so it was a nice change to eat in.\n\nService was very good though I did see a customer spoken to in a very abrupt manner which was surprising and a bit uncomfortable to see and hear.\n\nWe both went for the same basic cod and chips. It was good but not outstanding. To be fare it was all ok, it all seemed fresh but not a lot of taste. The batter was a bit thick for our liking. \n\nThe chips and mushy peas were good.\n\nI like the spicy curry sauce especially and it was a generous portion.\n\nLike all restaurants the food quality can vary and based on this experience we would go back again. However If I was after a takeaway Watermoor CS is a lot cheaper and based on this first visit and our recent Watermoor CS experiences the batter was better, chips nicer and fish tastier and my pocket heavier as I left.\n\nIf we wanted a sit down Fish and Chips when we are in town we will give it another go.\n\nStar wise I would give it 3.5 based on the price if I could and the awkwardness with the other customer. 3 does not seem fair so it’s a 4.\n\nOn the plus side it is definitely better than the Friar Tuck.\n\nBased on this experience pole position goes to Watermoor CS for Fish and Chips takeaway in this locality.

North Cerney, CirencesterStaying at the Bathurst Arms was a genuine pleasure. The pub boasts a beautifully authentic and cozy atmosphere, complemented by consistently excellent meals. We enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with the Korean-style chicken burger standing out as a particular highlight yum!
The staff were warm and welcoming, contributing to an inviting experience enhanced by friendly locals. The pub becomes quite busy during dinner time, so l recommend booking ahead to avoid disappointment. Despite a small team, the staff managed walk-ins with great professionalism even in peak times.

17 Black Bar and Restaurant with Nightclub hire
4 Castle St, CirencesterPopped in on the off-chance they where open late on a Monday with an open mind as have had some bad fish in other restaurants.. We where greeted and served buy james who we could only describe as eye candy... When the food came out promptly may we add it was a feast for the eyes and short of putting flippers on and heading out to sea I doubt you'll find better fresher fish. Who ever is behind the kitchen at a guess could only be a magician of the dark culinary arts. If you leave a bad review you clearly must be drunk or have no taste in the finer things in life. Well done guys.

Pet Friendly Places
Bee's Knees
133 Watermoor Rd, CirencesterWas told about this pub by a friend. I have lived locally for over 25 years and never been. The pub is under new management so I decided to try it.
On the first night which was a Friday it was busy and buzzing which was a nice vibe. I sat on a comfortable sofa with my eldest son and we enjoyed a couple of pints. The next day I heard they had live music and I also thought I would try their burger and fries which I saw others eating the night before.
The music was an acoustic duo who were very accomplished. They played well know covers and we're very good and easy to listen to.
I ordered the burger which was reasonably priced and delicious. I will definitely be coming back to this pub in the future.

The Catherine Wheel
Arlington, Bibury, CirencesterCamping nearby and we were advised to pre-book. We arrived for dinner on a busy summer Saturday as a group of 6 and a small dog. The staff let us know wasps were a bit of a nuisance outside (they were everywhere we visited in the area that weekend) so we ate inside. There were good options on the menu for all of us, decent prices, and whilst gluten free options were few, they were very mindful and well prepared for the celiac in our group.

17 W Market Pl, CirencesterRight in the heart of Cirencester amongst individual, shops and lovely cafes, the Crown's menu looked inviting. Although not busy the pub felt friendly and inviting. The staff were polite, attentive but not overbearing and a real fire roared and the place is spotless.\nI chose the seabass, which came with beautifully crispy skin adorned with a lime quarter. The cream sauce with the veg and potatoes was a delight. Overall, the best sea bass dish I've eaten out in a very long time and moderately priced. Definitely somewhere to return to!

Thai Emerald
36 Castle St, CirencesterA rightly popular Thai restaurant in Cirencester, a few minutes' walk from the Market Place. We went there for dinner, after seeing it busy each night of our stay. Overall, we were very impressed: service was polite and efficient; the food was some of the best Thai we've had in the UK (my Tom Kha Hed soup with a selection of wild mushrooms was outstanding); and at just over £30 a head for two courses, including drinks and service, we though it very good value for money. The interior is full of authentic, heavily carved furniture and architectural fittings, each table having a glass top to see a scene in carved relief beneath. We were served quickly and efficiently, but without any pressure and lots of smiles. A real find.
