The Bay Horse
Snaygill Industrial Estate, Bradley, KeighleyExcellent Lunch!
Just called for a lunch for two, having passed many times before. The food was excellent and so was our service. Two really minor points, but that's cos I feel I should be a mystery diner... tomato sauce bottle had previous remnants round it. Secondly, everyone that came in after us were sat next to us- even a small child and does nobody remember COVID times??? Just personal grouses, sorry!

1 Jerry Croft, SkiptonWe booked La Bistro Des Amis for our small weddeing reception, 10 adults and 3 dogs. Frazer the Manager/chef could not have been anymore helpful. He accommodated for our 'fussy' eaters, he ensured we had a private dining area with music appropriate for such an event. The waitresses where very attentive and made sure we were topped up with drinks. All guests chose from different menus and each meal was cooked to petfection.

Calico Jack Restaurant & Bar
36 Water St, SkiptonThis was our first visit here so didn’t really know what to expect. We normally go to the larger food chains but thought we’d give an independent a try for a change. We went on a Sunday evening, we had booked a table but it wasn’t very busy when we arrived. We were a family of 5 and easily found something for all our tastes on the menu. The staff were friendly and attentive. When the food arrived we were all pleasantly surprised with the quality and taste of it. In fact my husband ordered the Stromboli, they let him swap some ingredients in it, and he said it was the best he’d tasted in a long time. If we are ever in the area again we would definitely make a return visit.

Oakleys Grill & Pizzeria
5 Albert Terrace, SkiptonCame here as a walk in group of 6 of us including my toddler and a dog on early Sat evening. We were welcomed and shown to a large table. Menu has something for everyone, we came on my Birthday without a plan but came across this venue on Google and glad we did. We all had starters and the food was well cooked and fresh, ribs were a massive portion and cajun prawns cooked to perfection. Our mains followed shortly after, huge portions again all perfectly cooked including steak just as ordered. We actually asked for a box to take some away as we were all so full. Staff helpful and friendly, food well cooked and prices very reasonable ? Definitely recommend visiting!

High St, SkiptonBlackhorse is the busiest pub in Skipton and for good reason.
The staff are friendly and efficient.
The food is fair priced and exquisite.
The beer is crisp and refreshing.
Not only that, but you have the sports playing on the tele, a pool table, the place is huge so you're never short of seats and the beer garden at the back overlooks the canal so on a warm day it's an outstanding place to go for a few pints with your friends.

The Masons Arms
Marton Rd, Gargrave, SkiptonWe had the pleasure of staying at this lovely village pub during our touring holiday of Yorkshire this last week. What an absolute pleasure. We had a twin room with the comfiest beds and gorgeous decor, despite us booking with a dog (which we have often found means a room that is a bit tired and not worried about a big of dog hair etc!) but happily not in this case - it felt positively luxurious. I’m disabled so a ground floor room with wet room was perfect for me. We also had an evening meal in the pub and found the menu full of delicious options for all tastes. We chose the sharing platter, aptly named Yapas - based on a Yorkshire version of tapas. It was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed by us both. Very good value as was the breakfast and catering to my veggie/vegan requests. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful throughout our stay. So a big thank you to Amy and Richard for a wonderful break - it was well worth it and will be recommended to anyone we know travelling up to your “neck of the woods”. Hopefully we’ll be back again next year!

Pendleside & Phoenix Blonde - which Mason told me was nearing the end of the barrel & if it wasn’t right, take it back. It tasted great. Inch’s cider & ABK Pilsner as a top lager plus five cask beers. 100% connected to the much loved Cash & Mealey short lived but iconic series - I can just see John Henshaw behind the bar here with Eddie, Joan & Tommy occupying some seats! The portion is large, everything is cooked neatly and tasty: the bacon was perfect, sausages are tremendous and cooked to perfection and very tasty, the eggs are moderately fried, the beans are fragrant, tomatoes were good, two hash browns delicious and the coffee is invigorating, without acid. Caffè Nero
40-42 Sheep St, SkiptonA better example of a Neros with decent service and coffee / Barista skills evident. My soy cap was good and wife's Oat HC excellent. Just let down, as usual for this chain by the lack of ANY vegan savoury options, all week on our stay here there was nada. At Costa while don't like their coffee as much I had 3 vegan savoury choices including an excellent toastie. Not the fault of the fine Skipton Nero Branch I would guess but some more senior Muppet
Would return, unless I was hungry as because I can't eat meat / dairy these folk think it's fine to have NOTHING

Walker’s Bakery
27 Main St, Grassington, SkiptonWhile on holiday at Bolton Abbey,
We took the bus to Grassington been here numerous times over the years,
But while here this time needed to get a loaf of bread so decided to try this local bakery .
Wasn’t disappointed we were served by a lovely member of staff who offered to slice the loaf for me I declined as I like to cut my own bread and while we were there thought we would treat ourselves to something nice I had a Yorkshire Pasty which was absolutely delicious,
My wife had a mars bar crunchy cake type of confectionery.
Which she also really enjoyed.
And looking around at the other delicious items for sale the prices were very reasonable as well.
The bakery was very busy serving customers so that shows how popular this Bakery is.
If I lived here I would most definitely be using this bakery couple of times a week.
Highly recommended .

What Wetherspoons achieve across the country is the ability to provide beers and food at exceptionally reasonable prices and quality! ?
It's a shame there aren't a lot more companies in the industry that don't follow Wetherspoons marketing philosophy in the current climate.

My husband had the giant beef filled yorkshire pudding and I had the fish and chips , we thought as it was very busy there would be quite a wait , wrong, our food was with us within 15 minutes. It was piping hot and absolutely delicious. Everything about this place is perfect , the quirkiness of the pub , the atmosphere, the food , the choice of drinks and the staff are so friendly and happy it really was an enjoyable lunch, we will be back to try one of their homemade pies as they looked amazing ,
