81 High St, BurfordThis is the place to get South Asian food! The staff is absolutely the best you can ask for. Attentive, caring, and personal. Once you get cared for, you get to have some of the best dishes you could imagine. Each portion was fantastic. Had Saag Paneer, chicken jalfrezi, Chana Masala, and chicken biryani. A must to repeat.

The Fox at Barrington
Great Barrington, BurfordWe were staying not far from this pub and it was recommended to us - we were certainly not disappointed! An idyllic location with beautiful views. We were greeted warmly by the manager, who was really friendly and helpful (and made a big fuss of our cocker spaniel which he loved). We were shown to our table and served drinks by two more friendly staff. Now the part about going above and beyond their duties - my wife had a dizzy spell and felt a bit odd, then actually fainted - the chef and all staff were so attentive, bringing cold flannels to put on her head and staying with us (we had our two young children and the dog with us so it would have been really tricky without the help we were so readily given. When my wife came around and felt a little better, the food arrived and it was delicious - only sorry that my poor wife couldn't eat much (so we will definitely return so she can experience the meals). I can't find high enough praise for this place - superb in every way. Would recommend to anyone.

Hugo lovage patisserie
54 High St, BurfordWe had takeaway afternoon tea boxes from Hugo Lovage for 70 at our wedding in August, and it couldn't have been more perfect. The sandwiches, cakes, and quiche were delicious, the boxes down the long tables looked fantastic, and we had so many compliments from our guests. Cindy was great in accommodating the dietary requirements we had, and it was a real highlight of our wedding day!

The Carpenters Arms
Fulbrook Hill, A361, Fulbrook, BurfordA pretty great Cotswold pub! Had a table reversed for a group of 4 on a sunny Sunday. Needn't have bothered. The pub was very quiet and we were able to sit outside which was great! (Meant we waited a little for them to take our order but we were all busy talking and enjoying the sun). The pub had a great vibe and had a typical Cotswold décor. They are also dog friendly which was perfect. As for the food, the Sunday lunches were spot on. Great presentation, tasted amazing and came as quite a large portion!. All in all, can't fault the Carpenters arms. Highly recommend for a quiet lunch if in Buford

The Royal Oak
26 Witney St, BurfordIf you think ham, egg and chips is a simple dish, you clearly haven’t had it at the Royal Oak in Burford — here, it’s a masterpiece. Perfectly cooked ham, eggs with yolks like little golden suns, chips so crisp they could be in the National Gallery, and onion rings that frankly deserve their own postcode. I also ordered the “gallon fries” (and yes, that is exactly as glorious as it sounds).
The setting? Peak Cotswolds charm — the Royal Oak’s been a fixture in Burford for centuries, and it wears that history like a well-loved tweed jacket. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and pleasantly busy without ever feeling cramped. You half expect to see an old coaching horse peeking in through the door.
The staff? Friendly, attentive, and clearly proud of what they’re serving — as they should be. This isn’t just pub grub, this is “cancel your plans and come back tomorrow” grub.
Burford might be known as the “Gateway to the Cotswolds,” but for me it’s now the “Gateway to Ham, Egg and Chips Heaven.” Highly recommend.

The Priory Tea rooms Cafe with Rooms
35 High St, BurfordCame here for some tea and ice cream while going through Burford and I definitely wasn't disappointed. The tea was great, the ice cream was nice and creamy while not being too sweet, and the scones were fresh too! Definitely worth checking out.

The Highway Inn Burford
117 High St, BurfordAbout the hotel: 1) The lighting in the rooms is a bit low. 2) The fan may not be enough during hot periods.
About the restaurant: Breakfast was excellent and also the dinner was very tasty, offering many tapas selections.
Overall, the hotel is very charming and the staff super friendly!

The O D D Pub Co Ltd
The Angel, Witney Street, BurfordSophie our server was sooooo nice and accommodating. It was so much fun going to where my ancestors came from. I know that great grandfather's back millennia helped build the Burford bridge over the little river that's at the foot of high Street and so it was fun seeing all these places and having lunch there and thinking about my families connection to the town. Burford is considered to be the gateway to the cot waltz. The cot walls has an old area that has changed for a little over the hundreds of years and has amazing architecture and houses and farms. It's surrounded by rolling Hills and Dells and little rivers running through it. Burford is considered the gateway to the cot walls because it showcases several styles of very old architecture. that's still an excellent condition. If you have questions about what to do while you're there go to the Tolsey house. But I have to say there is no question that when I got there And it was lunchtime that I selected the angel at Burford to eat the fine food that they serve there. The staff quality of the food everything was amazing. I will return time and time again.

The Oak Tree Restaurant
Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens, Burford, Bradwell Grove, BurfordVery well laid out and maintained gardens, if you were to compare this experience with Chester Zoo then I would say that the animals were better displayed and well cared for - much more enjoyable experience, thank you guys!

The Sweet Shop Burford

The Swan Inn
The Swan Inn, A40, Swinbrook, BurfordGreat location, nice building with friendly helpful staff, cozy room with all the usual stuff. Comfy bed, nice shower, plenty to do in a 10 minutes drive, my one and only disappointment was the breakfast, the quality was amazing but the "full" English didn't live up to its name. I wasn't full. 1 amazing sausage, 1 bacon, 1 egg, 1 mushroom, half a slice of black pudding, half a slice of tomato, and a tiny bowl of beans.I would definitely return and can highly recommend. (Just fill up on toast or cereal first)

Huffkins Burford
98 High St, BurfordI placed an online order on Tuesday 29th July 2025 for delivery on Thursday 31 July 2025. Throughout the day DPD kept saying they hadn't received the order. I emailed on 4 occasions and only got a response to the last one blaming DPD. Why weren't customers notified if DPD failed to collect? Not impressed. I had requested a refund and afterwards got an email to confirm despatch! I am still waiting for a response regarding a refund a day later. NOT a company who has a modicum of Customer Service.

The Cotswold Arms
46 High St, BurfordWe stopped by for a quick drink and enjoyed the live music, which added a lovely vibe to the evening. The place had a friendly atmosphere, with lots of families and kids around, making it feel welcoming. We only ordered one beer, and the bartender did give us a bit of a look for that, but otherwise, it was a pleasant stop. We didn’t stay long and can’t comment on the food, but it seems like a nice spot for a relaxed drink and a chat.
