Restaurants in Isle of Skye
The Hungry Gull
Staffin, PortreeAbsolutely loved it. Great food, REALLY great coffee, reasonably priced. Were it not several hundred miles from home, I would be a regular customer. Fantastic. Parking a bit of a pain, as it is pretty much everywhere in Skye, and a bit of a wait to get in, but well worth it.

Red Skye Restaurant
Breakish, Isle of SkyeGreat food in a wonderful old building.\nSquat lobster tails were wonderful. Food all locally sourced, including some foraged.\nOnly disappointment was main courses arriving at the table before hubby had finished his squat lobster starter... would have expected the kitchen to wait until starters clearer before cooking/serving mains.

Loch Bay Restaurant
1 Macleods Terrace, Stein, Isle of SkyeExceptional food, service and atmosphere. One of our favorite restaurants. \nI explained that we were staying in a cottage nearby with friends and was delighted when I was presented with a doggy bag of desert for them to try, a lovely touch.

The Old Inn & Waterfront Bunkhouse
Carbost, Isle of SkyeStayed nearby and ate at the pub. So good we went back again! Very charming setting, super friendly and attentive staff, and the amazing food was well prepared and presented. The menu is varied to accommodate various preferences. The chowder was incredible, the fish and chips had the most generous portion of breaded haddock I’ve ever seen, and the drinks were delicious. Side note: if you can visit when they host live traditional music, do not miss it. It gets crowded, and for good reason.

Uig Hotel
Uig, Isle of SkyeWe enjoyed a wonderful dinner here whilst staying nearby at Cuil Lodge, just 15 minutes walk away.
Service was great, local beers available on tap and a good range of local gins too! I can heartily recommend the Venison, skip straight past the entrees and enjoy with a pint or two of the local red ale brewed on the other side of the bay.

Sleat,, Isleornsay, Isle of SkyeBest food we’ve not only had during our Scotland trip but in a long time - it was a 10/10! We had the catch of the day (monk fish) and the rump steak that comes in a bread. Big recommendation! Also the view + outside seating area is great.

The Oyster Shed
Carbost Beag, Isle of SkyeIf you’re a seafood lover visiting London, The Oyster Shed is a must-visit spot. Located right on the Thames, it offers stunning river views — especially beautiful at sunset — and a lively yet relaxed atmosphere.
The oysters are fresh, plump, and perfectly presented, with a selection that changes depending on the day’s catch. Their seafood platters are generous and beautifully arranged, featuring prawns, mussels, crab, and smoked salmon, making it an ideal sharing experience.
The wine and champagne list is well-curated to complement the seafood, and the staff is knowledgeable in recommending perfect pairings. Service is generally friendly and efficient, even during busy hours.
While prices are on the higher side, the quality, location, and ambiance make it worthwhile. It’s a great place for a casual yet refined lunch or a romantic dinner with a view of the river.
⭐ Rating: ★★★★☆ (4.5/5)
Best for: Oyster enthusiasts, seafood platters, riverside dining.

Seumas' Bar
Sligachan Hotel, Sligachan, Isle of SkyeWe were a little desperate after our first choice for food was closed but we were so happy to find this! Food came out for two of us before the other two but everything was hot and cooked well and portions were right for lunch. They were able to cater for gluten free. The decor was cute and cozy and unlike other reviewers, I thought seeing all the dogs was fun
