Really delicious food, lots of vegan and gluten free options.
Cakes are creative and flavourful, with even vegan croissants!
Staff were attentive and helpful, a memorable lunch for sure.
Wish we lived closer, prices were reasonable and I would definitely come back!

The Contented Vine

Beautiful evening at The Contented Vine. Delicious food and attentive staff. Fabulous braised lamb for my other half and I had a delicious carbonara with gluten free pasta and a lovely side salad. Fantastic service. A place to return to.

Off the Square

Lovely, cosy tea- and lunch room, very pleasant place!
There is a good atmosphere, mostly due to the friendly staff, but the place does look nice too ?
Only came for a coffee (well, two actually), but I'll be back to try the menu.

The Cobbles - Freehouse & Dining

Gorgeous food. We had Cullen skink soup and Whitebait, followed by Chickpea and spinach curry and Beef Lasagne. Great service, and relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend a visit. Thanks to the team.

Salt’N’Fire

Came across Salt and Fire when we couldn’t get a table elsewhere, what a brilliant turn of fate. One of the party has allergies and the manager was amazingly helpful, polite and knowledgeable. The other staff were obviousky well trained/folllowed her example as they were all great. Everyone’s meal was first class, good value and memorable- we will definitely be back - a real gem of a place!

Rutherfords Micropub Kelso

My friends and I were cruely turned away from this establishment tonigh... all we wanted was a simple whistle wetter on a Monday night around 9pm after cycling all day, opening hours said open until 10pm

Terrace Cafe

Simply the best Kedgeree anywhere. We were warned when seated that they were very busy. Took over 40 minutes from ordering for a table of 4 to be served.
Kedge was worth the wait however ?

Insanely good food, we are Bengali and we lovedddd it. The food was not oily and was genuinely delicious, the customer service was really good. Food came fast and was steaming hot. Every dish was cooked to perfection and for the first time, we finished a full south Asian takeaway. Thank you so much, will be recommending you to family and friends who come and stay at the Roxburgh

Black Swan Hotel

Class place to stay over .
Rooms right above the pub so ideal if away a weekend jolly or for the racing as we were.
Lads all behind the bar top drawer to.
For the price , location and service can't fault a thing.

The Cream Chimneys

Popped in for a coffee and a scone for the first time. Disappointed. Slow service, scones were not the best and cappuccinos could have been hotter. Don't think I'll be back.

Tweed Cafe & Restaurant

Delicious food. Large portions. Incredibly friendly and polite staff. We both had the salmon grill off the dinner menu, which was accompanied by bulgur and salad. Google times do not accurately reflect current operating hours

The Waggon

Do not be put off by the exterior. The Waggon serves excellent, tasty meals served by friendly, helpful staff. Fully wheelchair accessible with disabled toilets. Those in need of gluten free options are well catered for and dogs are made very welcome. Menu good, staff terrific. Excellent value

Rendezvouz Fish & Chip Shop

I had a nice pizza, freshly cooked. The base had a slight crispness to it which I found unusual but was nice. There was plenty of topping and cheese. The service wasn’t very personal and I was left standing for a while before being acknowledged despite there being three staff members in view. Prices are reasonable. Street parking (free) outside the takeaway. I noticed that delivery is also available but also witnessed them taking the phone out of the socket as the phone wouldn’t stop ringing.

Kwan's Chinese Takeaway

I regularly order food from Kwans , it is always hot , always cooked well , and very very very consistent , when I order from there I know I will recieve exactly the same food the next time , and the service is always friendly

SCHLOSS Roxburghe, part of Destination by Hyatt

Dropped by for Lunch on the sunny terrace today. Our waitress Erin was brilliant, really attentive a real above and beyond experience. We had mackerel, beef brisket, chicken thighs, hisbi cabbage, tender stem broccoli all cooked to perfection on the BBQ. Checked out the other restaurants and the menus look to die for Would highly recommend this place

1905 Bar

Good beer and service up until the bar staff failed to deal with two guys squaring up to each other with one who was very drunk and aggressively shouting threatening obscenities across the bar. Should have been thrown out and/or the police called. Neither happened so we left.

Gavins diner

China Red

We visited China red whilst staying near by for a wee break in the Oct week and my god it didn't disappoint. Staff were very friendly, waiting time was only around 10 minutes and the food was not only well priced but delicious too! We all loved our food! Would highly recommend and will definitely visit again if we're ever back in the area!

Ozkans Grill

myself and my sister had mixed kebabs last night and got to say it's actually the best kebab I've ever had in the UK, flavours on the meat were next level and cooked to perfection. only downside (although not really a downside) when we got home we realised that had forgotten to include our chips , but one phone call and they had them delivered with an apology 10 mins later , absolutely outstanding customer service , really can't recommend these guys enough and it's now my go to for great well priced tasty food .....good job guys in this day and age it's fabulous to get such high quality takeaway .

The Townhouse Takeaway

We had a take away delivered last night.
We asked for it to be delivered at 18:30 and their very pleasant and friendly driver arrived at exactly 18:30!! Brilliant!!
The food was hot and it was delicious.
We wouldn't hesitate to order from them again and would definitely recommend them.

Cross Keys Hotel

Have had such a nice stay. Room 209 was immaculate and quiet. Perfect for my 2 day stay. Had travelled up from Stoke-on-Trent to visit family in the area, and it's the second time I've had this room. Breakfast was excellent, and all the staff were happy and smiling and very welcoming. Really have had the perfect break. I'd certainly stay here again.

Greggs

Great service from the staff today when buying 2 coffees, nice clean shop and plenty of the usual items. It’s amazing how far good service goes. Thanks to the staff.
