Really delicious food, lots of vegan and gluten free options.
Cakes are creative and flavourful, with even vegan croissants!
Staff were attentive and helpful, a memorable lunch for sure.
Wish we lived closer, prices were reasonable and I would definitely come back!

The Contented Vine

Just been here as a family of 4 and all I can say is WOW!!! They were so welcoming when we arrived. The girls were so polite and professional. The food was stunning in both presentation and delivery. They absolutely nailed it. It is very rare for me to leave a 5 star, as a trained chef myself, there is normally something that can be improved upon.....but not here!! It was perfect!!! Well done, and a special thanks to Ashleigh who was particularly delightful, and the reason we have booked to come back tomorrow. Well done guys, what a brilliant restaurant...you should be so proud of your team. The attention to detail and the use of local suppliers, makes this place very special.

The Cobbles - Freehouse & Dining

We had a lovely evening here. The food was great as was the service. Tanya our waitress was extremely good, always served us with a smile and genuinely wanted to help. Great pub grub, big enough portions and at a fairly reasonable price. Be warned though the chickpea curry is spicy as are the loaded chips. A note; the menu doesn't tell you what is loaded on the chips, so best ask if you don't like spicy. We mentioned this to our waitress and she offered another portion of plain chips. Good selection of beers and wine. Definitely will come again when we are back in Kelso.

Salt’N’Fire

Came across Salt and Fire when we couldn’t get a table elsewhere, what a brilliant turn of fate. One of the party has allergies and the manager was amazingly helpful, polite and knowledgeable. The other staff were obviousky well trained/folllowed her example as they were all great. Everyone’s meal was first class, good value and memorable- we will definitely be back - a real gem of a place!

Rutherfords Micropub Kelso

My friends and I were cruely turned away from this establishment tonigh... all we wanted was a simple whistle wetter on a Monday night around 9pm after cycling all day, opening hours said open until 10pm

Class place to stay over .
Rooms right above the pub so ideal if away a weekend jolly or for the racing as we were.
Lads all behind the bar top drawer to.
For the price , location and service can't fault a thing.

Insanely good food, we are Bengali and we lovedddd it. The food was not oily and was genuinely delicious, the customer service was really good. Food came fast and was steaming hot. Every dish was cooked to perfection and for the first time, we finished a full south Asian takeaway. Thank you so much, will be recommending you to family and friends who come and stay at the Roxburgh

The Cream Chimneys

Popped in for a coffee and a scone for the first time. Disappointed. Slow service, scones were not the best and cappuccinos could have been hotter. Don't think I'll be back.

Tweed Cafe & Restaurant

Delicious food. Large portions. Incredibly friendly and polite staff. We both had the salmon grill off the dinner menu, which was accompanied by bulgur and salad. Google times do not accurately reflect current operating hours

SCHLOSS Roxburghe, part of Destination by Hyatt

Dropped by for Lunch on the sunny terrace today. Our waitress Erin was brilliant, really attentive a real above and beyond experience. We had mackerel, beef brisket, chicken thighs, hisbi cabbage, tender stem broccoli all cooked to perfection on the BBQ. Checked out the other restaurants and the menus look to die for Would highly recommend this place

1905 Bar

Good beer and service up until the bar staff failed to deal with two guys squaring up to each other with one who was very drunk and aggressively shouting threatening obscenities across the bar. Should have been thrown out and/or the police called. Neither happened so we left.

China Red

We visited China red whilst staying near by for a wee break in the Oct week and my god it didn't disappoint. Staff were very friendly, waiting time was only around 10 minutes and the food was not only well priced but delicious too! We all loved our food! Would highly recommend and will definitely visit again if we're ever back in the area!

The Townhouse Takeaway

We had a take away delivered last night.
We asked for it to be delivered at 18:30 and their very pleasant and friendly driver arrived at exactly 18:30!! Brilliant!!
The food was hot and it was delicious.
We wouldn't hesitate to order from them again and would definitely recommend them.

Kwan's Chinese Takeaway

was working in the area, tried this takeaway, and it was brilliant, so fresh and tasty, prawn toast was dynamite, same with the special fried rice and crispy chicken, will definitely be back next week ??

Cross Keys Hotel

We didn't stay in any of the rooms, so couldn't comment on them. We bought a drink at the bar and then listened the the folk evening music performed by some of the locals. They were really good! We really enjoyed their performances and banter with each other and the audience. Will come again. We also had Sunday lunch. The carvery was tasty with good portions. Our waitress was very pleasant and couldn't do more to help.

Ozkans Grill

Very disapointed ,food was cold on delivery and not to the usual standard,mixed kebab didnt have alot of meat in it and pakora chicken wrap didnt have the usual amount of chicken and really cold .wont be back

Great service from the staff today when buying 2 coffees, nice clean shop and plenty of the usual items. It’s amazing how far good service goes. Thanks to the staff.

Rendezvouz Fish & Chip Shop

Just popped in here when passing, lots of choice and loved that everything was cooked to order. Staff were polite if a little dower, a can’t imagine it’s easy being in the catering industry at the moment. Lovely well cooked sausage and chips, not at all soggy would order from again.
