The Banc
5 Broad St, KnightonThe best breakfast I’ve ever had! Me, my partner and our Dalmatian made a pit stop here after a lovely hike. Had plenty of options on draft which all tasted delicious, looked over the breakfast menu and decided to go for the baguettes. What value for money! Portion sizes were absolutely huge and cooked to perfection. If we’re ever back in Wales this will be one of our first stops. 10/10

The Red Lion
West St, KnightonWe stayed for one night at this lovely b&b managed by a couple. We don’t realise it was only and b& b and not a pub so we thought we could get there in the evening and checkin in and have a drink and a meal but we found the owner had gone home as we got there after 6pm and thankfully managed to get him to come back and let us in via the door ring bell. Thank god for that! Thanks to him too! The rooms were reasonably spacious and very clean and tidy. We felt it was a bit expensive for what it was but that’s possibly due to the bank holiday weekend! The breakfast was basic but nice. We enjoyed our stay. It’s a nice basic b&b. Very nice owners

The Garden House B&B
The Garden House, Church Rd, KnightonWhat a quaint little B&B which has just 2 rooms, so you won't be bothered by any unruly guests! It's in a beautiful location in the picturesque village of Knighton. The landlady is such a lovely person. Very helpful and accommodating. Locals are very friendly. It has everything you need for a short break if you want something off the beaten track. There is space to park your car and it'll be safe behind locked gates as the whole property is very secluded. The room I stayed in had an ensuite shower and a TV (both are the same). Towels were provided. There is a guests' dining area which includes a kettle, toaster & fridge where you can help yourself to breakfast. Choose from the usual suspects: juice, tea, coffee, cereal, fruit and toast etc. The dining room also has a little lounge area (settee & tv) to relax in the evenings which is nice if you fancy a quiet night in!The b&b is home to 4 little munchkins (dogs) so you may hear the odd bark but they didn't disturb me at all and as an avid dog lover, for me it was a bonus! One other thing as the B&B is adults only, it's great for a romantic weekend away!I'd thoroughly recommend it especially if you love rural Wales and walking as it sits right on a national trust trail which follows the complete border between England and Wales. Absolutely stunning!

The Sitwell Arms
BucknellThere was a very friendly welcome once inside this pleasant village pub. There were also excellent pints of Speckled Hen - not chilled but served, as English beer should be, at a comfortable room temperature. The fish and chip deal was very reasonably priced at £20 for two (we recently paid more than that for one) and the food was well presented and generous. We did find the combination of television and loud music a bit disconcerting but, to be fair, the volume was reduced after a request. It might also help if smokers were encouraged to be a little further from the open door - it felt as if they were in the room with us. But that is a comment that could be directed at many pubs. On the whole it was a pleasant evening out.

Chandos Kebab & Burger House
1 High St, KnightonCan I just say the people who work here are absolutely lovely? As a first timer I got all the help I needed! When I ordered the chicken kebab, staff let me know to get large as I was really hungry! The pizzas were delicious - we got a large tandoori chicken (fire) and a personal veggie with jalapeños (also fire).
In store, they only accept cash and card is available through online order. I didn’t know this and ordered in person, staff was kind enough to begin my order despite me still needing to pay online. I had to walk back to my Airbnb and staff was concerned for me - “it’s not too long of a walk, yeah?” Just some of the kindest people around and delicious hot food ready in 20 mins! Will def come back!

Bamboo Garden
Bamboo garden, 50 Market St, KnightonRecently moved to the area.I had Chinese from here a few weeks ago. I heard mixed reviews about the place. I phoned my order and was told it would be ready to collect in 20mins. I ordered the special chow main, sweet and sour chicken, spicy shedded beef, peeking sauce spare ribs and chicken fried rice. Over all the food was hot and tasty. Not the best Chinese in the world but would definitely order again.
