Old Gate Bar & Restaurant

Busy town centre bar and restaurant which is popular. Visited recently with family for a birthday meal and was not disappointed with the meal and service provided. Also called in on 2 other afternoons with son for sandwiches and drinks and again experience the same good quality and service from the friendly staff.

Gio's Italian Bar and Kitchen

Me and my family came here yesterday for a meal, 13 of us total and it was incredible! The food was delicious , the service was amazing and we will 100% be back! Such a beautiful little restaurant, we were over the moon, Thank you!

True North

Amazing, friendly staff, nothing an issue and on tap if you need them! Child friendly, the Sunday dinners are out of this world! Couldn’t fault it, our table of 8 all loved it! Until next time! Thank you ☺️ x

Pollino

We've been a couple of times now and both times the food was amazing, service was fantastic, great cocktails, the restaraunt itself is beautiful with some really lovely views. We love it and will definitely be back.

The New Inn

A great traditional pub with a warm welcome and a local feel. We arrived too late to eat, but saw that the New Inn is very popular for food and has a menu that caters for vegetarian/vegan as well as ???. We will definitely be back - and recommend this place to anyone that appreciates a traditional setting and a friendly team who work hard yet have time for their customers.

There is a lovely strip of grass around the perimeter with solid and level picnic tables, overlooking great views of the hills and towns below.

Dog friendly (and treat-ready!) although limited area where your furry companions can be inside. There is a covered area (used by smokers) at the back with the lovely views. It’s home to the friendly resident cat, so please be considerate ?

Well worth a visit!

Sapore

Another incredible night out at Sapore. As ever the food was delicious, ordered from the specials. But the main highlight is the friendly and welcoming waiters. All such lovely people.

RICCI'S PLACE

Our first time this evening at Ricci’s and it was outstanding. Good quality food, good prices, lots of choice on the menu, friendly staff. Will definitely be back to this gem

2Amici

We always enjoy coming to 2Amici. We came today with our children and once again we were blown away by the food. The waiter and waitress who served us were friendly, attentive and couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. Highly recommend the gnocchi with prawns and scallop which I had today. We'll be back again I'm sure; thank you 2Amici!

Los Pampas Brazilian Steakhouse

Been today with my hubby and a friend, food fabulous, meat so tender and plenty of it. Endless salad bar. Loved the mocktails. Staff very helpful. Good atmosphere.

KAYA’S GRILL:TURKISH RESTAURANT

Our meal here was a really fine example of Turkish cuisine. Excellent service and well prepared and cooked kebabs. The atmosphere was relaxed and all in all a really enjoyable experience.

Pizza Hut

Myself and my family visited tonight. Served by Sam & Erin. We were delighted with the service. Nothing was too much. The food was fresh!! Salad bar was topped up and fresh. Thanks ladies

Elland Craft & Tap Micropub

Lovely friendly pub full of regular characters, even though we were 'outsiders' from the big smoke (York) we were welcomed like locals. We'll definitely be back (maybe at Christmas ?).

Cafe Italia

The food was lovely and atmosphere and service was spot on, but when you are spending £340 on a family meal you would normally expect the round of limoncello drinks would be on the house as they are in most Italian

Fantastic find for an excellent meal before a concert at the impressive Piece Hall. Staff were excellent as was the food and reasonable prices, for really good sized portions. Their pizza bread as a starter is highly recommended. Would definitely return and I don't often say that. Great value early bird menu as well, and very popular, which speaks for itself!

The food and service here is superb, table for two we had Vegan and chicken dish’s, both were excellent. The decor and atmosphere is cozy and chill, recommend highly.

The Maypole Inn

Our first visit in many years - it won't be so long before our next. The staff were excellent - friendly and very professional, the food was delicious ( I can recommend the beetroot tarte tartin ?). A good range of dishes, well cooked and reasonably priced. We sat outside in the beer garden - a perfect way to spend a Friday afternoon ?.

Yates - Halifax

I recently visited Yates in Halifax, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a charming rustic decor that made me feel right at home. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that every guest felt welcome and well taken care of.

Plummet Line Hotel

Really don't know what to say that I haven't said before but with Adrian & Mark you always get what you don't pay for ( hint to other DJCrews, were living through a Cost of Living crisis & if not actually personal many of us are supporting out kids through it !! Cheers guys :-)) )
So the sun's out, muttleys napping and had a brilliant Weds afternoon with the Halifax Soul Crew as expected. They always pull a brilliant crowd & the music gets better time after time, perhaps some older tunes this time?? But it's what I grew up loving so enough said & no way am I talking about my bloody great age here ? for anyone so do not ask !!!!
Sorry, the gig !! Fabulous music, excellent crowd and packed to the gills with truly lovely people. I was told about one I knew nothing about so will be checking that out and we'll see.
Now, who's seen our DJs in an actual pose ?? Bet not many but I somehow managed to persuade them ? and.......they still both look the ? knee's ⚡ ? Perhaps they felt like it was Benidorm !! Take good care of yourselves and my score?? An very easy 17/10. Now, who's going to get a massive 20/10 ??? I've a feeling I know who might but time will tell, take care all & keep those dance floors full ?!! Xx

Sunday 30th June Northern & ⚽
Sadly an easy winner today was the ⚽ but hey ho that's life & it was a pretty nail-biting match as the crowd was ooooh aaahh'ing at regular intervals!! A huge shout went up when there was I think either a goal or near miss not sure which as I was too busy on the dancefloor :-)) A guest DJ from the other side (aka dark side) of the Pennines played an excellent set & Mark and Adrian were on top form as usual. A fantastic mix of old school & more modern but we'd a mix of old Motown & early classic Northern & talk about happy bunny with a virtually empty dancefloor until a few had had enough of the big screens and joined in, again all brilliant dancers & ex Wigan Casino people so a nice bit of reminiscing went on in & amongst so massive thanks to all concerned perhaps try not to clash with the ⚽ again!! 18 /20 & very well deserved, cheers guys and a big ?? to all concerned xx

Totem

Totem is a fantastic spot with surprisingly fast service even when it’s packed. The food is fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented, and the drinks (coffee or cocktails!) are top notch. Staff are warm and efficient, and the atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between modern and cozy. A must-visit if you’re in the area

Upper George

Always a friendly atmosphere in this pub

The manager and staff work hard to ensure the stay is a welcome one whether it's a quick pint or an extended stay

The jukebox is great as is the beer selection

There's a few TVs dotted around for sports if that's your thing

Special mention about the DJ the have on Saturdays

All in all just a solid pub and on I know my kids are safe in while on a night out in town

Thai Style

Shabby looking building from the outside but better inside in a very Thai way. Hadn’t booked but able to get a table straight away, good menus and the food was obviously freshly produced and nicely presented and generally good although the green curry wasn’t as flavourful as I’d hoped, quite pricey. Seems odd that beer is bottled but the bar downstairs that they run as a private hire says draught Thai beer.

My Punjab Express - Punjab Pizza & Balti House

Called in for Donna kebab and Donna meat and chips sat outside in car they said we'll bring it out to me, 25 minutes later I got it absolute poor service never go there again

Vine Bar

We had a wonderful experience at Vine! We had a Piña Colada and a Mojito and some pints. All were absolutely delicious. Later we also ordered a cheese/meat board, which was absolutely delicious!

Big shoutout to Lynda, who served us. She was super professional, attentive, and genuinely kind. It made the whole visit feel that much more enjoyable. Would definitely come back! Even after closing time for food we were still served. 10/10 food and service. :)

La Luna

we visited yesterday for the 1st time. we booked online and requested a highchair. given that they provide these I found it very odd there's not even a small children's menu? food however was lovely can't fault it, quick and friendly service.

The Murg

Was given a recommendation to go and we certainly wasn't disappointed. Friendly and welcoming. Food wow ?. A lot more than expected. Definitely go again. I have the king prawn starter and the warp and couldn't finish it all . Which you can take home.if you wanted to as well.

My fav Chinese. Everything we order is absolutely spot on. Our new fav atm is the starter box omg ? not to be missed!! Also 5stars for customer service to the guy. Always polite friendly!

Cinnamon at the mill

Excellent food and friendly staff!couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough by far my favourite place to go. Wide selection of food and drinks to choose from and family friendly what more could you ask for?

Sportsmans Inn

It doesn't look fancy, but there's a lot of heart here. The first thing that strikes you is the attentive and friendly service, all regular guests are greeted by their first name and are served exactly what they want, no questions asked. The food is hearty and tasty and the portions large. Can only recommend a visit to the Sportsmans Inn to anyone who is in these parts.

The Stump Cross Inn

We came to Halifax for the weekend & found this little gem, we were made to feel welcome by the friendly staff, we didn't book, but they seated us with no problems. I went for the special, which was a Jerk Chicken Burger, this was delicious! My partner asked to make substitutes to the lasagna sides from chips & salad to mash and veg, which they changed with no issues. Lovely pub, would definitely return.

Food and drinks: Food was delicious and reasonably priced.

White Horse Inn

Lovely family meal last tea time

The Causeway Foot

We came into the pub famished after a long walk. There was a big car park! Nice! What we needed! The pub screamed love for dogs. Another tick. We were served by very polite and friendly staff. There was a bit of a wait but the food. Can't express in words how much we liked each meal we ordered. The presentation and the preparation both excellent. Will be coming back again for sure!

Called in today on recommendation, only had coffee and soup but will definitely come again for a meal ,it's a lovely pub with stunning views ,very nicely decorated

Wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen. Danny Kaye sang an ode to this place back in 1953. I slurred my own version yesterday having been bowled over by the place.

Stubbing Wharf

Only had drinks, lovely location, we enjoyed our drinks that were very reasonably priced.
Friendly staff and lots of different areas to sit.
Had a lovely hour overlooking the canal.

Coffee @ Number 1

We didn't actually end up eating here as they'd stopped serving food, but the lady behind the counter was very helpful and gave us suggestions of where we could go instead. The cakes looked good too!

Nando's Halifax

Don’t visit Nando’s much at all but me and the other half decided to go for an early tea. Chefs were really polite and helpful and the food was lovely. Rowan (I believe his name was) was our waiter and was really attentive and kind and also helpful. The team on this evening are a credit to the restaurant in our opinion. Wish we had cash and we would have tipped. Would usually find Nando’s to be like a Wetherspoons style service, but Rowan and the kitchen team made us feel tended to. Thank you!

Cafe Passion

What a fabulous little find. Lovely staff, great food and very reasonable. All three had the Chicken sheesh kebab and came with rice, pitta, and lots of little sides and dips. Washed down with a lovely bottle of Blush Pinot. Nice and clean toilets too. Defo give this a try...

The Village Pantry

I recently had a wonderful breakfast at The Village Pantry in Halifax, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! Everything was cooked to perfection - nothing was burnt or dry, unlike other places I've been to. The quality and care put into the meal were evident with every bite. The staff were incredibly friendly and made the experience even more enjoyable. Although I didn't take any photos this time, I will definitely be returning the next time I'm in Halifax. Highly recommended!

Casa Pizza

Excellent takeaway! This place also does fabulous gluten free pizzas - would highly recommend. Always friendly when we collect and every delivery driver has always been lovely too. Great local takeaway!

Dario's Pizza

Had a fantastic calzone from Dario's Pizza in Sowerby Bridge centre tonight! It was absolutely packed with meat and so tasty. At just £9, it's seriously good value for money. Highly recommend!

Seraj Indian

First time ordering off just eat, polite driver. The chicken tikka kebab was HUGE! Could done two people amazing for the money. The Chicken FELL to pieces, had to give some to the cat he smelt it and was crying for some! Haha. Absolutely beautiful chicken tikka, the cheesy chips was well covered in cheese. I will deffo be back the highlight for me was the portion size for the money.

Frangoz

First time trying the food in Frangoz . Wasn't disappointed as all . I was told good things about the chicken parmasan & I wasn't disappointed ?
It was just a quick stop. My 3 year old loved his kids' meal popcorn chicken! decent portion lodes left over & my Partner chicken stir fry rice combo with salad . Will defo be going again!

Kid-friendliness: Took my 3 year old had no issues alot of space .

Wow! What lovely interiors? This is an amazing pub, possibly among my uk favourites. Good ales and good service. I’d like to return when the fireplaces are lit.

The Wainhouse Tavern

Just called in with the dog on a quick afternoon walk. I've not been before but they had loads of local ales on and there were lots of people inside which is a good sign :) price for a pint was reasonable too. I'll be back.

Long Can Hall

We’ve spent a few days in Yorkshire and had our last meal in Long Can Hall. I’m so pleased we did, the best meal we’ve had all week by far. Beautiful building, lovely atmosphere, super friendly staff, and utterly delicious food. Sadly we were too full to sample the dessert menu! Wish I could move up from Cambridge so we could eat there regularly. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

Pajaree's

It is a very cozy place and serves amazing thai food! The owners are Pajaree and Philip and absolutely fun people. So you can look forward to a humour filled meal. It is also quiet and feels very homely.
I would say if you expect good food with amazing hospitality, do try this place!

Pear Tree

My boyfriend and I have completely fallen in love with this pub after a trip to Norwood Green this past weekend.
The food is beautiful. We ate there multiple times and enjoyed everything we ordered.
The staff are amazing. They’re very friendly and make you feel so welcome. I’d like to take the time to say a massive thank you to the covering manager (unfortunately I didn’t catch his name). He made us feel right at home and was one of the reasons we continued to go back. He also gave our miniature dachshund so much love and attention that our little dog would pull us towards the pub desperate to back inside. He went above and beyond for us and our dog. You’re a credit to the staff team. Thank you.

Big Six Inn, Halifax

Iv regularly visited this traditional British pub with my family/friends and dog..we have a few games of dominoes or connect 4 in one of the many rooms..I sample the Yorkshire ales and enjoy chatting with like minded people who are also interested in traditional pubs/ale

Fantastic service from the guys here! Catered for our birthday party of 11 with ease and a friendly attitude. Food was absolutely delicious, and generous portions too! Cosy and relaxed atmosphere made it a great meal and a great night

Stod Fold

Booked this venue for my partners surpise 30th and it was an absolute dream from start to finish!

A special shout out to Jenny who sent me all the information which was needed, answered all my questions & sorted the catering! The staff on the night were brilliant!

The space is a lovely venue for gatherings, parties and celebrations - we were even able to have our friends band play at the event! Can't reccomended this venue enough!

Hong Kong Chinese Takeaway

Absolutely Devine! First time eating here and I got chicken Szechuan. The food was hot and you could tell they use fresh ingredients. It’s obviously a spicy dish, but the flavours were balanced perfectly. It wasn’t just spicy, it had flavour on flavour on flavour! Some placed the flavour gets lost in the heat of the dish, but not in this case.

Had rice, chips, curry sauce and crackers too. All of it lovely, seasoned perfectly, cooked perfectly. I have not had a takeout as good as this one for as long as I can remember, across all the cuisines. I will be recommending this take-out to everyone. Delivery is reasonably priced and quick. Prices are extremely reasonable, portion sizes are generous. I don’t have one bad thing to say about this restaurant.

Circle Lounge

A great place with a great selection of drinks and a smile. The lads behind bar were great especially asking before a drink if I was allergic to anything. However the hardest working person I saw with a fabulous smile was Kaya, thanks all for a great night.

Spice Delight Restaurant & Bar

Good food, with excellent service.
I'd called ahead to make sure they had a table at 10pm but it was reasonably quiet.

Nice dessert gift afterwards.

Dhesi Karahi Grill

Ordered food from Just Eat. Arrived in good time and was hot. Everything was delicious and the man delivering was very polite and courteous. I called forward to ask for some cutlery as staying in an air b&b. The order contained forks and spoons. Great service and food from start to finish. Really great authentic food. Thank you.

Nice gluten free fish and chips with a warm, friendly service by the owners. Turns out they have an extensive gluten free menu so will be back to try the steak and ale pie!

The Ivy House

So …probabley speaking to the converted…. but just had a Pizza made by Max… who always cooks the Wednesday Pizzas… and this is 3 times his Pizzas have been spot on… thanks Max and all the staff, especially Owen

The Duke William

Went for the bottomless brunch. A little hiccup when we arrived but not a problem. We had drinks before we were seated and Dom couldn't do enough for us. Loads of cocktails prosecco spirits to choose and the food eas delicious. Laughed all afternoon and would deffo go again 10/10

Westvale Fisheries

Popped in on Saturday 28th June with a big order for a family birthday party. We’re from the south, visiting the north and the fish and chips were some of the best we’ve ever had! Delicious chips (amazing portion sizes) and crispy battered fish - absolutely perfect!

Stretchgate Fisheries

The best fish and chips I’ve had in ages. The fish was fresh full of flavour. The chips were cooked to perfection and the gravy was so creamy and tasty. Highly recommended

Domino's Pizza - Halifax

David was class coming down a very icy street to deliver my pizza so I didn’t have to leave even though i offered to meet him somewhere - Very nice guy too - Deserves this 5 stars just for him

I'd highly recommend this quaint little cafe- the service was impeccable and reasonably priced too. It was a lovely pit stop for me and my partner on our walk.

Hands down the best breakfast ive ever had! Everything cooked to perfection and the staff are friendly and efficient!

Amazing local boozer…. The owners are kind and friendly very easy to talk to… the locals are kind and are like family! The food is good can’t go wrong with some nobbys nuts haha… the dj is good and will play all your requests and join in on the karaoke if your shy!

Brackenbed Fisheries

Fish and chips are always on point. Friendly staff and reliable business.Parking: There is parking to the side of the building and a small patch of gravel to the right side of the building.

The Old Bakehouse

I visited with my daughter and grandchildren, who live in Halifax and have eaten here before. We all chose breakfast dishes. I had the small breakfast, which was very nice, and came with toast. There is a shop area and cafe area, we had to wait a while for our meal, staff apologised for the wait but we could see how busy it was.

Shoulder Of Mutton

Nice local pub. Staff are really friendly, plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy in the warmer weather and small playground for the kids to enjoy. Good selection of drinks and bar snacks.

Pizza Republic

Absolutely smashing - got a ham & pineapple and pineapple, olives, and pepperoni from here last night, both with stuffed crust. Pizza was hot enough to burn you when we went to pickup which meant FRESH and was the perfect temperature when we got home. Stuffed crust was unreal - more of a soft cheese rather than a stringy one, which went down well. Other half got a burger, we shared chilli cheese bites (unreal, literal perfection), and I got a side of the popcorn chicken. Will absolutely be back as is delicious, local, and well-affordable.

The Fountain Head Inn

If you don't mind a pub that's like stepping back to 1970 with a good local atmosphere, good pricing, a landlord who gives fabulous service. And where you can hear local gossip and get interesting information. A bit smelly like an old smoky tap room (very nostalgic) and, effort is being made to improve the place with an extension and even brewing their own beer, then give this pub a visit.

The Duke Of Wellington

We came on a Thursday at 3pm and didn’t expect a top quality carvery just fancied trying it however, I was really impressed with how well it was all cooked and how amazing it tasted! Lovely people working there also, will 100% come again :)

Costa Coffee

The staff here remember my favourite drink and are lovely to see in a morning. The only downside and this is not the staff's doing, there is very little Gluten free options.
