Honiton’s Boston Tea Party is their standout venue - always friendly and welcoming. The coffee comes from Extract in Bristol and is outstanding. The variety of options for breakfast/brunch/lunch means there’s something for everyone and the cakes are a welcome treat - all fab quality and good value for money. My go-to treat on a day off.

What a find! Otter Valley sits in an absolutely gorgeous location surrounded by rolling fields with lovely views - the kind of countryside setting that instantly puts you at ease. But the real star? Some of the best pizza I’ve had in ages - proper quality stuff. Gerry’s service was fantastic throughout, really attentive and genuinely welcoming. This is the kind of place that makes you remember why supporting local businesses matters. Absolute gem.

Stopped for a spot of late lunch on the bank holiday. Have to say I wasn't prepared for the fabulous few hours we had here. The staff were amazing and friendly and very knowledgeable of the winery. The tapas food we shared was to die for, the chorizo was absolute knockout. Will definitely return for a full meal and a wine tasting tour. The place is amazing.

Simply one of the best curries i’ve had in a long while! You need to bring your own alcohol much like Brick Lane used to be but there is a Spar just 2mins away. The Bhajees were crispy, light and beautifully presented, with a lush thick minted yoghurt, garlic naan was freshly made light, crispy and full of flavour and the mains were similarly exceptional! Thoroughly recommend!

We are on a family week away and booked in for 5 of us with two rather large dogs for a Sunday lunch . We were welcomed immediately and shown to our table . The front of house service was absolutely exceptional! ( I feel that we are very qualified to write this review as we ourselves are publicans, and winners of National Awards including BII Innkeeper of the Year 2001 ). I asked the gentleman that was serving us if he himself was the landlord, which he confirmed ?? My husband had already said he thought he was because he worked with with such assured confidence, great humour and literally nothing was to much. I cannot congratulate him enough. We all opted for roasts and there was Sirloin of Beef, Turkey, Nut Roast and a Pork Loin on the menu, with an additional option of Roast Venison on the Specials Board . Our food was delicious and we also had desserts too, which were lovely. I’m guessing the other lady serving out front was his partner, and she too had the same upbeat, happy attitude. The pub was very busy, with a constant turnover and they both were managing it with such professionalism, we were hugely impressed. I hope, they get the recognition they deserve. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

The Little Shop of Seasons

1-3, Dolphin Court, High St, Honiton

We were on a long driving journey. Dropped off into Honiton for a break. Walked along the main street, my partner wanted to stop at Costa, i suggested we must be able to locate better than that, continued walking and so pleased we did as we came across The Little Shop who have a very welcoming cafe area. We enjoyed fantastic service/welcome plus coffee and a wonderful triple layer cake made by a family member at an incredible price. What a find so we had to let everyone know how much we enjoyed our driving break. Thank you for being there for us, we`ll be back next time we`re driving through. All the best. Tony & Ros

Absolutely brilliant place - tasty food, super efficient and friendly staff. Good freshly prepared and great quality. Best cuppa I’ve had in a long time from a cafe and accommodated request for extra milk without a second thought. It’s difficult to find places that our autistic daughter can handle going to but she loved it here. Managed to find ‘safe’ foods and the sensory environment was manageable. Will definitely be returning.

We visited the Vine last weekend for a family afternoon tea. It was absolutely delicious. The sandwiches were very fresh and a great variety of different fillings. The scones were lovely and a great choice of delicious cakes and chocolate mousse. Plenty of tea and coffee available. The service was brilliant, we were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. I really do recommend this beautiful traditional pub with the lovely tea room . We will definitely be going again .

Visited for Sunday Lunch. Very nice setting and lovely food. Slowish service (an hour to get food from ordering). Loud music playing when we arrived but, on request, that was switched off (thank you).\nBig complaint, however, was barking dogs.\nWhy are dogs allowed into an area where food is being served?\nThe hygiene considerations are immense.

We just managed to squeeze my mother's wheelchair down the long alleyway before emerging out onto a quaint, tiny garden. We parked ourselves under a tree at the back and I then went into the cafe area to order our coffee. Here I had to ring a bell and then a nice lady emerged from the tiny kitchen and took both my order and my money. She then brought the steaming hot drnks in large earthenware mugs straight to our table. All good. By the way, the gents toilets here are an unusual work of engineering prowess.
