Tandoori Night
13-14, High St, IlfracombeWhile staying in Illfracombe, we visited tandori nights indian restaurant. I can honestly say it was one of the best Indian meals I have had. If there is anyone out there looking for a decent Indian, I can recommend you try this one. You won't be dissappointed.
I believe they also do take aways.

Spice lounge Indian cuisine
36 Greenclose Rd, IlfracombeFrom the initial greeting through the door to the attentive staff ensuring our questions of the menu were answered, we were in no doubt from the start we were going to enjoy ourselves here.
From our starters the portions were generously proportioned and the flavours matched the best of what we have been lucky to have experienced. Despite there being no draught beer, pints (albeit in bottles),of both Cobra and Kingfisher were provided and refreshingly chilled.
We hope to return to The Spice Lounge Indian Cuisine later this year with a good group of friends to enjoy the hospitality and flavours as a group, thank you to all the staff for hosting us and demonstrating what a capable establishment such as yourselves still have to offer.

IHP, Marlborough Rd, IlfracombeHave been here a few times for food and always been excellent , the 1st time I’ve been for Tuesday steak night and we wasn’t disappointed The T bone steaks are amazing , 2 for £40 absolute bargain , if you haven’t been before you have to try it , ice cold beer ,lovely surroundings , comfy seats , kids and dogs welcome , lovely staff , cant fault it , use it or lose it .

The Hele Bay Pub
39 Beach Rd, Hele Bay, IlfracombeThis pub is an amazing local to the community. We travelled here over Christmas and they were so lovely! We had drinks one day and bingo/food on Boxing Day. I would highly recommend this pub and such a lovely atmosphere even when you’re not a local. We took our dog both times and they were so welcoming to us and him ❤️?

61-62 High St, IlfracombeExcellent food. On the photo is the Monster Burger, Plan Hot Dog, Dougie Burger, Kids Pizza and Chips, Pork Dog and the Sharing Platter. Totally stuffed after eating it all but well worth it and the prices were fantastic.

6 The Quay, IlfracombeThe fish and chips were brilliant! Everything was freshly cooked.
The cod was up there with the freshest that I've had.
The chips were easily 9/10 and the mushy peas were just how I liked them, the perfect amount of mush without them being completely blended.
The only downside to my visit was, I wanted to sit inside and eat. When my food was ready it had been wrapped up, I asked if I could eat inside and I was told it costs extra.
I don't have a problem with this, but it would have made sense to ask me if I wanted to eat in or take out in the beginning.
There was nobody else in the shop.
It did make me feel slightly unwelcome.
So for that reason alone I wouldn't go back there even though the food was great.

Fore St, IlfracombeWe saw that a wonderful folk duet - St. Fian - was playing live at the George and Dragon and thought that would be fun. The fact that we could get dinner there as well was a bonus. The music was delightfully entertaining, and the food was surprisingly good.

Once inside though the service was great, the food, we had the sunday carvery, was really good. Would recommend the pork and gammon as were both beautiful were as the beef was a little tough. The only slight issue was it was very warm in the restaurant which im guessing can't be helped with all the hot plates

Staff were all really friendly & alerted us there could be a wait on the food because of the large group. However I wouldn’t have realised if she didn’t say as the food came out in a timely manner. Food was as expected but didn’t wow me. Car park is a bit tight and not many spaces.

My husband and I visited Ilfracombe for our 1 year anniversary and a few weeks before, I caught wind of this place and was lucky enough to get a table for 2 on a Saturday evening. My husband is vegetarian and I am a picky pescatarian and there was plenty on the menu for both of us. The food was really delicious, home cooked but prepared and served with professional style. We absolutely loved the aesthetic of the restaurant, it's intimate and beautifully put together. It was the best table service I believe I've ever had and we even had a chat with Carol the owner/chef about Sheffield, which she knew well. Whilst I understand they are now booked up until Christmas, if you ever get the chance to go, we would highly recommend it. What. A. Find.
Vegetarian options: I finished with the fruit cake and cheese. Oh my god so good.

Castle St, Combe Martin, IlfracombeMy wife and I called in for Dinner my first impression was that it was very quiet, however the locals and the staff were very friendly and quite happy to chat. We decided to try the steak I had a ribeye and she who shall be obeyed had the sirloin. The chief a South African chap came out and had a chat he took our order and he could not have done it better the food was excellent made fresh to order. If you are in Combe Martin don't be put off with the negative ninny reviews, or that its a bit shabby sheik its a nice place and you should try it I will definitely be back next time I am in Combe Martin.

The Quay, IlfracombeThree of us came in tonight 25.10.25 for dinner at 5.15. We ordered the Salmon, Chicken au Poivre and Gammon. We all enjoyed our meals, service was quick and the young girl was very friendly. My chicken was moist and the peppercorn sauce delicious, plates were warm too which is a bonus.
Pudding was cheesecake, fresh strawberries and I had chocolate ice cream with big chunks of chocolate yum!
We finished it off with coffee and agreed the food was delicious and we will be back.

125-126, 127 High St, IlfracombeGreat family run speciality coffee house. Best coffee i've tasted in Devon by far..and i've tried a few! In fact so good we bought a bag of beans home in an attempt to recreate (wishful thinking I'm sure.) Amazing food, all home cooked/baked.
All the staff are super friendly and just plain ol' lovely. We need to say a big thank you again to the whole team for looking after my partners mobile phone overnight, after leaving it there accidentally the day before..yes we went 3 times in 3 days...in fact 4! The coffee is just tooooo good.
If you like coffee/cake/pastries/savoury scones, all served by happy friendly people and you find yourself in the Ilfracombe area, make sure you pop in and give it a go...sadly i did not take any photos...?

Wilder Rd, IlfracombeAlways find the food good for the price. It is better in the winter season. Summer season it can get packed naturally, because it has a roof terrace. For a Witherspoons it is one of the good pubs.

56 Fore St, IlfracombeThe lovely owners helped us when we needed 2 rooms at very short notice. The rooms we stayed in were great - immaculately clean, beautifully decorated and comfortable beds. Location was perfect - very central, and close to a car park. Breakfast was great too! Will definitely be back - thanks Jo! ?

The Castle Inn, Pub and Beer Garden
High St, Combe Martin, IlfracombeBig pub, lots of space, lovely beer garden, Friendly service, friendly locals. We were planning to eat at pack o’cards down the road, but their chef didn’t start until 5.30pm and we were starving so we called the castle inn, asked if they did food, they didn’t but advised we could bring take out food in, so we got a pizza, ate it in the beer garden and got some drinks, no drama. Would happily return for drinks and the traditional pub atmosphere

Hele Car Park
33 Watermouth Rd, IlfracombeEnjoyed a sunny day and it was really relaxing. Rocky underfoot and more orientated towards paddle boarding and other activities, but fun all the same.
The toilets were grim and I expected them to not be 100%. A shame because it made it difficult with a young toddler. No-one expects to find dirty nappies stuffed into the changing station. Maybe more bins required.
Still enjoy a sunny day as it was very relaxing ?
