We had lunch. Unfortunately we missed the bunch menu, however, it was very nice. Service was slightly strange: One moment we had many servers asking if we were ready to order. However, when we were ready to pay, everyone disappeared. Despite this, so this was overall fantastic. My only feedback would be that brunch shouldn't end at midday surely, this makes it a breakfast menu. Brunch is until 2 pm (Google concurs!).

Without a doubt, the highlight of our Rye holiday. Superb selection of wines of all varieties (and they actually let you have a taste before committing! Take note, literally everywhere else). The best way to describe the atmosphere is like being invited into your favourite neighbours' front room where it's always Bank Holiday, and all the guests are jolly and just the right amount of tipsy. Dog friendly too!

We stopped here by chance - the friendly staff found as a table straight away. We had a really yummy dinner - breaded mushrooms, fish and chips and Mac n Cheese from the specials (all great portions). It was a cosy atmosphere and we were well looked after. Would highly recommend to others.

Very accommodating staff and great service over all and lovely little place. Food was consistently good. We enjoyed the shredded, smoked oyster mushroom with crumb on salad and my fish dishes, Hake Skewer and Skate/Ray wing were delicious. For the sharing plates ethos/concept, if you have a dietary requirement there probably aren't quite enough dishes to pull that off, so for example, you maybe better off asking for a nice sounding veggie dish to be made into a main.
Excellent wines throughout.

We visited this place as ask the restaurants in Rye town were fully booked. Having looked at the menu, we thought we wouldn't get in but as it was about 10 minutes out of town, it wasn't too busy. The food was great, the staff were very friendly. I ate way too much! Definitely worth a visit..

We were welcomed by a very friendly ?member of staff who let us bring our dog ? too.
The breakfast were really good with humongous portions and reasonably priced. We had extra eggs, black pudding and chips on the side with some soft drinks. Then our food arrived in huge plates and a cereal bowl ? size of baked beans each! ???Everything was cooked to perfection.
We can’t wait to comeback to Rye and so looking forward to have breakfast/brunch at Beryl’s cafe again with some reinforcements this time (our grown up kids!)

We visited Rye for the first time in 5 years and stumbled across this little place .I had a brown bread bacon sandwich and my partner had a white bread bacon and sausage sandwich. The bread was lovely and fresh and very light not stodgy at all . There was plenty of filling all cooked to perfection . The price was very reasonable and the staff were very friendly Unfortunately it is only small inside and there wasn't enough tables there are tables outside but it was raining so many people came into the cafe but had to leave as the tables were taken , alot of 4 seater tables were taken up by 2 people I think more 2 seater tables instead of 4 seater would benefit the cafe as more people could be seated . Over all a great little cafe and I would highly recommend it ?

The Mermaid Inn is such a charming hotel with a unique vibe! The staff is generally friendly and professional, and the hospitality is top-notch! The hotel and our bedroom were spotless, thanks to the amazing housekeeping! But there are issues . Parking; be prepared to try and squeeze in the limited number of tight car parking spaces, due to the age and location of the building, or like us park in a local car park at an amazing rate of £3 per day, only a 5 minute walk away. Room 25 is situated near the kitchen extractor fan system. Upon arrival, a noticeable fried fish odour was present. Additionally, a low-frequency hum emanates from approximately 6:30 am to 10 pm which is highly irritating and detracts from relaxation, which woke my wife each morning. The cooked breakfast is stunning, first class ingredients cooked to perfection. The continental is extremely lacking and not great quality. Bar food, the fish and chips were great! But the mushy peas were a bit of a letdown—they were more like mashed garden peas with butter. My wife’s main course was a watermelon, strawberry, and feta salad, which was a bit of a mixed bag, you know? It felt like it was trying to be both a starter and a dessert, not quite hitting the mark as a main course. Maybe it would have been better served at breakfast! Basically, it was a bit of fruit floating around in pomegranate syrup. Plus, there were only about six or seven tiny feta cubes, and instead of salad leaves, there were just a few micro basil leaves sprinkled on top. A very over priced dish missing the mark!

Very, very good fish and chips. Friendly and helpful staff, great service. Fish (cod) was the best I've eaten, lovely crisp batter and fish cooked just right. Not at all greasy. Very nice to sit in and enjoy a meal after walking around Rye.
