This was a beautiful little place with alot of character the staff were very friendly and food was very well priced in intodays world where a typical plate of fish & chips or sausages & mash is gonna run you £15-20 I got a nice sized and well presented mixed grill with plenty of flavour for £25 and my mother had salmon and king prawns for £20 which looked great, there was also a nice back patio over looking the river however I will say it Is a small building and can be confined so other people's conversations can travel and family's with baby's or toddlers may not be able to fit there buggies or strollers through the isles or onto the patio,other wise lovely place to eat

Had an early dinner here with friends before the theatre. Hadn't been for some time and the decor and ambiance has improved considerably. The staff were very helpful. I was advised to book here and I'm so glad that I did. I booked for 18.00 but they rang me and asked if we could come a little earlier so that they could 'spread the load' over the evening. What a great decision that was. Service was impeccable and the food was the same. So much that we couldn't eat it all. Very flavoursome. Would thoroughly recommend.

Parking: Car park opposite gets very full but Pound Lane car park is bigger and there is a pedestrian short cut between Pound Lane and North Lane which is handy.

I recently visited Longport cafe and had such a wonderful experience that I felt compelled to share. From the moment I walked in, the warm and cozy atmosphere immediately made me feel at ease. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. I ordered the avocado poached egg and a cappuccino, both of which exceeded expectations. The toast was perfectly crunchy and butter ,while the coffee had a rich, smooth flavour with the perfect amount of foam.

What really stood out, though, was the service. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They checked in without hovering and offered great recommendations with a smile. It’s clear that they take pride in creating a great customer experience.

Onion rings were mid.But the real winner was the cheesy garlic bread... it was so good we had to order it twice. Hands down the best garlic bread I've had so far. Tried their in house lager too, and that was good.

Even though the ramen comes with only one piece of meat, it's more than enough to feel full, as the slice is quite large. We've been there a few times already, and I can say that the takoyaki and kimchi ramen are my favorites. The kimchi has a proper spicy kick, which is often missing in asian restaurants in the UK, and the broth is really flavourful. The staff are also friendly and helpful. It’s definitely one of my top japanese restaurants.

Quality and care is a staple here, exemplifying local produce. The team clicks and seamlessly move around the elevated platform with cheerfulness. What a gem! A lovely dog friendly pub with fab service. Our dog Rodney was loving the attention he received and even had his picture taken for the wall.
We popped in to get out the rain and so glad we did. We ordered a chicken wrap lunch meal along with a kids mac and cheese. The wrap was delicious and the mac and cheese they put into a colder bowl and plate so it cooled enough so our little one could eat straight away. This was a lovely touch!

We stumbled across The Rising Sun when we were out for a drive and were impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the pub itself so we decided we would go back another time and have lunch. We decided to go on a Sunday for my husband's Birthday. We were greeted on arrival by cheerful bar staff and as we were early we sat and had a drink first. The pub is lovely inside and the fairly lights adorning the walls looked absolutely beautiful and added to the cosiness of the pub. We all ordered the roast beef. It was cooked to absolute perfection. There were plenty of potatoes and vegetables and we ordered a side of cauliflower and broccoli cheese, which was also lovely. I had the baileys creme brulee for dessert which was to die for!! We all left vowing to return again.

Woody’s is easily one of the best hangout spots on campus! Whether you’re grabbing lunch, meeting friends, or catching a game, it’s got everything you need. The food is great—especially the burgers and loaded fries—and it’s all reasonably priced for students.

What really makes it stand out is the atmosphere. There are big screens showing live sports, so it’s the perfect place to watch football or other matches with a crowd. The energy during game nights is brilliant!

Staff are friendly, service is quick, and there’s plenty of space to sit indoors or outside. It’s my go-to spot to relax after lectures or to catch up with mates.

They were flexible and incredibly supportive—adjusting our food order to avoid waste without any fuss, which we really appreciated.

The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, vibrant, and full of flavour. Everyone at the table was raving about it! Whether you’re a fan of classic tacos, zesty nachos, or something a bit spicier, there’s something for everyone. It’s clear that the kitchen takes pride in what they serve.

The service was spot on—attentive without being intrusive. The staff made sure drinks were constantly topped up, and they genuinely looked after us from start to finish with warm, friendly energy. It felt like they were part of the event.

As for the atmosphere, it was buzzing in the best way—colourful, relaxed, and welcoming. It struck the perfect balance for a business networking lunch. It felt professional but never stiff, and that made it easy for everyone to engage and connect.

What makes it even better is that it’s a locally run small business, which we love to support. Tacos Locos is a brilliant example of how local hospitality can create standout experiences.

If you’re looking for a place to host a business lunch, enjoy great food with friends, or just soak up some good vibes, I couldn’t recommend Tacos Locos enough. We’ll definitely be back!

Our first experience, and we were pleasantly surprised. It was quick to order on the website and we were able to collect our two pizzas and cheese chips within 15 minutes. Pizzas were very good, and I loved that the cheese was actually melted on the chips haha. Very happy and will be returning in future to try other things ?

And the coffee is excellent Of course the bar it's is very good with anything u wanted to order available and good pricing The bridal suite is exquisite- my only complaint was that could be a bit noisy at night but it is a public pub and I think above the kitchen

We chose The Prince of Wales for our Anniversary lunch. We hadn't booked, but took a chance as it was towards the end of lunch time servings. We were given a friendly welcome and told to choose where we would like to sit. We sat at a lovely table tucked into the corner, over looking the front. There are a few different areas to choose from, all with great character, including the garden. Our waiter was very friendly and swiftly brought our drinks orders over along with the menue. My husband can be a little fussy where food is concerned, however there was a great choice for him, plus some lovely specials.
We shared the Beef Brisket Croquettes with horseradish sauce, followed by the steak and mushroom pie for hubby, and the stuffed chicken for me. Everything was very fresh and cooked to perfection and presented beautufully ? Timings were great, a little time between each courses, we never felt rushed.
Not sure if we wanted desserts, but was soon swayed by the fact that 95% of desserts are made on site. I ordered the Cheesecake, which was mixed berries with a large dollop of delicious ice cream. My husband, who didn't want a dessert, gave in to the Gypsy Tart, again with ice cream. Both desserts were delicious, genorous and again beautifully presented. Sadly my phone died so I didnt get a photograph of them.
The young lady and our waiter were very friendly and happy to chat. They asked if we had enjoyed our meal and hoped that everything was ok. It certainly was, we loved the food, the atmosphere, the friendliness. We would highly recommend this countryside pub and will definitely return.

This is the type of old style pub restaurant that, when you walk towards it and are inside, you get that proper pub smell. The type that pulls you back into a time when things were great. The food was excellent, and I recommend the chicken skewers. Good selection of beers and ales, along with soft drinks. The staff were friendly and attentive to us. Worth booking your tables in advance. Food portions were just right! Overall, I would happily return to have a few beers or Ales and food again.

We moved to Broadoak Canterbury 3 years ago and finally found our local. A real pub for the locals. Really great and friendly owners and staff. Clean and tidy pub, just how they should be. Great tidy and spacious beer garden with regular Barbecues. Plenty of parking in the tidy carpark as well.We had a meal in restaurant this evening. Excellent quantity and quality home cooked meals. Love this local. 10 out of 10.

The landlord such a friendly chap let myself and my wife see the function room upstairs, its lke something out of a medievil knights tale......just breathtaking. Parked in park & Ride (they do have their own car park) noticed cafe when bus made its way past in traffic, decided to call in for a late breakfast after a quick shop in Canterbury before the crowds.

Multiple choices for dessert, with a lovely home made crumble on offer along with dishes such as creme brulee and sticky toffee pudding. Portion sizes were generous and the service given by all the team was excellent.

Absolutely spot-on there was a young guy on his own serving very friendly. I couldn’t be more helpful which was fantastic as normally people just raise an eyebrow not in this case that’s before we got to the food which is absolutely amazing i’m a definite kebab man for the last 40 years and this is the best kebab not one of the best kebab I’ve had is incredible not sure how these guys do it but I wish all the others could take a leaf out of their book. Absolutely spot-on fantastic food, lovely people at a great price. I so wish I found them earlier instead of wasting my time with all the other fake kebab shops. I suppose you live and learn and all I can do is recommend it for everyone else but do me a favour please try it and if I’m wrong which I won’t be in this case absolutely hundred percent

My mum and I had the most wonderful lunch today at Phoebe’s Sandwich Shop and Café, and we’re still talking about how amazing it was! From the moment we booked, the service was incredible, so much thought went into preparing our table. We even arrived early, but were warmly welcomed and made to feel completely cared for.

We went for the afternoon tea for two, and it was honestly perfect. Unlimited tea, four generously filled chunky sandwich quarters each, a couple of big slices of three different types of homemade cakes each, an utterly moreish sausage roll each, and a scone each with clotted cream and jam. The sandwiches were stuffed to the brim with quality ingredients, the cakes were divine, and everything was clearly made with love and care - the sort of spread you imagine when you picture the perfect homemade afternoon tea.

The owner is such a lovely lady, we had a great chat, and she made us feel right at home. The cafe itself is spotless, welcoming, and a great place to sit and chat for hours over a cuppa. The crockery for the afternoon tea was charming and made the whole experience feel extra special.

Prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality and quantity you get. We couldn’t even finish it all, so they happily provided a box for us to take the rest home.

I’ve worked at CCCU for years and walked past Phoebe’s countless times, and I’m so glad we finally came in. We’ll definitely be back very soon, highly recommended!

During a recent visit to the Kent Spitfire cricket ground in Canterbury, we discovered the delightful Oriole restaurant, a true gem within the stunning surroundings. We were greeted with a genuinely warm welcome and a friendly atmosphere by the lovely ladies working there, who made us feel right at home.
We enjoyed a fantastic lunch that perfectly hit the spot. Our coffee was lovely, and the cheese and onion toastie was simply delicious, served with a fresh and vibrant side salad. The homemade banana bread and flapjack were also beautiful, making for a perfect sweet treat.
Watching the cricket match from this spot was a truly special experience, and The Oriole's hospitality only enhanced it. We will definitely be back to enjoy the food, the atmosphere, and the exceptional service again soon!????

Great place to stay with friends, we booked 5 rooms. Normally stay at the travelodge over the road, but the rooms here are bigger and cleaner. Already to book for next year, we loved it. Food and drinks were on the ball, and considering how busy it was the waiting time was not to long.

Rooms: Very spacious and a good layout. Rooms are on the second floor, but there is a lift to get you up there after a few at the bar.

Nearby activities: Your in Canterbury, so there are lot's of activities, shopping or pubs to visit.

Food and drinks: Your staying at a spoons, the food is always great value for money. I like ales, so this is the place for me. I've been coming here once a year for over 15 years, and have never been disappointed.

If you've not tried this restaurant before then I recommend that you pay it a visit.
It looks a little different to similar restaurants but the main difference is that all diners are given space to enjoy their own company and the meal itself.
The service was attentive, efficient, and relaxing.
The food that we chose was very, very good. It's a good sized menu, plenty of choice, and definitely somewhere that I look forward to visiting again.

Sunday roasts...Last week I had the beef this week roasts lamb...best meats I've ever had...cooked correctly. Very little fat. Nice thick slices. I've been to lots of restaurants and I can say these meats beat them all. Roast are at a reasonable price. Plenty of fresh veg and crispy roast potatoes and yorkshire. Guess we're I will eat next Sunday. Staff are very helpful and polite. Meals are at a reasonable price....wines pretty good too.
