The service was brilliant too, they clearly cared about making sure we were happy and the restaurant was super busy but their team work so hard to ensure everyone was served quickly .
If you like it hot, they will bring you out their Naga chilli sauce - put toilet roll in the fridge when you get home.

Just concern that on 01/07/2025 we book in online to come dine in at 630pm to be told not serving food. We drove from Melton thinking we reserved a place. Not happy we allowed to booking and find out this.
Recently been disappointed with Carvery being taken off on Sundays- substituting for a food service - portions not so great. Unfortunately they lost their amazing meat supplier and been struggling with good cuts of meat.
We love coming to this place and look forward to Cavery in August - see you then.

Ma's cottage
35 Burton St, Melton MowbraySaturday night is often take-away night and we decided to go to Ma's Cottage. We often use but hadn't for a while so decided to order online.
We always have Dim-sum as it's the only Chinese take-away that does them in Melton but sadly they didn't have, if you've not had before I recommend as they can be addictive and taste amazing.
Salt and pepper chicken balls and chips are always a must have along with Beef Chow-mein. I also recommend the Chinese gravy, I never had before and it's amazing. We had a honey beef dish and spare ribs also and special fried rice.
I scored down as the BBQ ribs were tough and not there usually fall of the bone.
Compared to other Chinese take-away in Melton I would say it's top 3

The burger was fresh well marinated and very very tasty I love this place and I order every Wednesday Thursday Friday. My favourite is & only place to eat. The custom service was 5* Star. The Abdul & Anwar were so lovely kind & friendly. I can’t stop eating at this place. Thank you for always making awesome food.

We had two takeaway pizzas and a portion of chips last night, we had a bacon lovers that was very nice, needed more bacon flavour, but was very good and the tomatoes were lovely and fresh, lots of cheese and good flavours, We also had a Queen's flamer with the chilli base ?, this was hot, damn hot, the chef, I take my hat off to you when you gave me the nod on collection, oh yes this was tasty, hot but blooming good, all the chicken was actually chicken and you could taste the food not just heat!!

The food was really tasty and fresh which we were impressed with the veg in the dishes were really tasty and crunchy. It was a really busy Saturday night, the restaurant was really full and the phone was constantly busy with orders, we had to wait a few minutes longer for our order which was understandable but the owners were so nice they gave me a free beer and my son sweets and fortune cookies. Great service and hospitality, will definitely go back

We decided to give a go and visit Rose & Crown under the new management.
We ordered massanan curry and burgers, including gluten free burger. The food was served in timely manner and the portions were very generous. The burgers were really nice, same as curry.
The place offers also pizza (gluten free option available) and other pub meals (fish&chips, pie of the day, etc.). Reasonable prices.
Good selection of beers and wines.
The staff were really welcoming and nice, very helpful and made us very comfortable.
It was nice to see local people coming to the pub, as this pub definitely has a good local pub athomsphere and it was full on Thursday night.

The coffee (2 Chimps, Oakham) was absolutely lovely, the best I have had in a while, as was the scone. Very very good blackberry (I think!) jam with the scone. Edendale Rd, Melton MowbrayAbsolutely fantastic! I stopped by today at 1:30 PM for a spot of lunch, just before the kitchen closed at 2 PM. I ordered the Sausage and Mash with Garden Peas and Onion Gravy, followed by a Banana Split with vanilla ice cream for dessert.
The young ladies behind the bar were very kind and polite. The cutlery and sauces are self-serve, but the food is delivered straight to your table.
The Sausage and Mash was delicious, the gravy was hot, and the peas were cooked to perfection.
The Banana Split was fantastic, you get a lot for what you pay, and it goes down a treat after such a brilliant main!

Ales were equally high quality. Food truck on site for my visit was a burger truck. Very enjoyable and priced fairly reasonably. Family enjoyed it enough that they all said we should come back. 54 Scalford Rd, Melton MowbrayThis place is so friendly and caring. The staff are wonderful and caring. They look after my 89 year old father as if he is one of there own. They care about everyone. I hope the senior management realise the brilliant team they have. The regulars are also very friendly, it is like a social club.
The food and drinks are good value for money and very tasteful. There is a specials board as well. I never visit Melton without a visit to this cafe.

7 Park Rd, Melton MowbrayBy far the best Pizzas in town. I last ordered from here over 20 years ago. The passion, enthusiasm and skill is still there. I am very much looking forward to ordering from here regularly and trying out the many various dishes. You are a little gem in a town full standards average pizza places.

This beautiful pub had a major fire a few years back, since then The Tap & Run pub had a complete rebuild and looks incredible today.. Equally to the atmosphere, the food they serve with impeccable table side manner is flawless... Must come to enjoy its offerings yourself...

14 Sherrard St, Melton MowbrayVisited here on a Saturday lunchtime. Fairly busy restaurant, but a few tables available upstairs. Order on app makes it easy with a great brunch menu. Service was really good and there big lounge breakfast was awesome, nearly beat me! Very nice place to visit if in town and want a relaxed vibe with good food.

24 Burton St, Melton MowbrayMy wife and I had a fabulous meal here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. What a find! Food was so tasty (Filleto Dolcellate and Filleto Stroganoff) and perfectly cooked. The wine (Primitivo) was a great match to the food. Highly recommended.

The Grange Garden Centre, Asfordby Hill, Melton MowbrayRestaurant attached to garden centre. Quite nice ski chalet theme. Both times I've been service has been fairly quick and friendly and food was nice. Does get quite busy and always seems noisy inside. There is an outside area.

The Basin, Main St, Hickling, Melton MowbrayWhat a lovely find,l only wish l lived closer to use it more. Only went for coffee because of a recommendation from my brother. Then we saw the food and had to try a cob.lovely they even cooked my bacon how l liked it. The carrot cake looked amazing,next time as l was too full after the cob.
