Mortimers

I was here last night for my birthday treat and it was absolutely outstanding. The food was cooked to perfection (the duck with fennel was a revelation), the service was excellent and we had a fantastic night. They lose a star because unfortunately I was a little chilly all evening. It is an old building but apart from 15th-century heating it's a fabulous venue. I hope I can return soon and I recommend Mortimer's to anyone who appreciates fine food in a gorgeous setting.

Absolutely delicious pizzas ? — proper sourdough with just the right crust, made with fresh, locally sourced organic ingredients. Fair prices, a lovely spot, and top-notch service. Can’t wait to come back!

CSONS

We visit Ludlow fairly often and ALWAYS squeeze in a visit to CSONS.

The food is consistently excellent and we love the smaller/larger plate options enabling you to try a smaller dish if you're not quite sure.

Dishes are always changing and pretty seasonal, which we love.

It might not look much from the outside, but looks are definitely very deceptive.

Squirrel

Party of 11 served promptly with lovely food - nothing too much trouble. Always feel looked after by the team at the Squirrel. Loads of free parking - drinks spot on. James is a fantastic host.

Blue Boar

Great find of a pub. Very cosy and inviting with lovely fire. Staff welcoming. Great choice of wines and cocktails. Had a great selection of non alcoholic cocktails too as well as other drinks. We ate there too. Food very tasty and high quality ingredients. Place was very busy and we did book in advance. We visited Ludlow for the weekend. Would definitely return if we come back to the area.

The Codfather

Hidden away on a housing estate in ludlow. All My years here and I've never even been aware of it. But family away and long drive back from the airport I decided I didn't want to cook finding somewhere open on Sunday night leaves you with little choice in ludlow and with the road closed even less accessibility. However google maps directed me here. And even just with location I was sceptical. But the lady serving was very pleasant. The food was well cooked and the chips with a red tint were crisp and full of flavour highly recommend

Shapla

just been into the shapla I had chicken tikka & my husband had mixed Biryani, I have to say was the best chicken tikka I have ever tasted , my husband said the same about his meal, we go to the saffron a lot in Queensferry even beats that, highly recommend, we will definitely be back .

Bill's Kitchen Ludlow

We were served today by the lovely Paige, who was lovely, and accommodating; she kindly helped us as we were unsure on how to use our vouchers. Had a lovely coffee and half price late lunch, which was very nice and reasonably priced due to the half price late lunch deal. ??

Munchies Pizza & Kebab

Beautiful place and a credit to Ludlow. Onion rings are not soggy like other takeaways, beautiful and crunchy! Delivery drivers are super polite. Foods always arrived before estimated time.

Aragon's

We visited Aragon’s Restaurant twice over a November weekend for breakfast, with two adults and our 8-year-old, and it quickly became our favourite start to the day. The mixed English breakfast was well cooked and generous, the scrambled eggs on toast were light and comforting, and the sausage sandwich went down a treat. Everything felt freshly prepared and unpretentious, exactly what you want in the morning.

The experience was made even better by the friendly, helpful waiter who made us feel genuinely welcome on both visits. Aragon’s was chosen as an alternative over the hotel we stayed in and ended up being our preferred breakfast spot, which says a lot. Relaxed, family-friendly and consistently good, we wouldn’t hesitate to return next time we’re in Ludlow.

Be aware that due to it's well deserved popularity, the cafe can fill up swiftly on a weekend, even more so when the market is present. Booking in advance is recommended.

The Old Bakehouse

We popped in for a pre-dinner drink. Service was fast and efficient. Nice range of cocktails and beers. The menu did catch our eye and will certainly come back for food.

The Queens

Came here as a visitor from Leicester so new to the village. We had a drink here and the staff and atmosphere is so friendly and welcoming. Jane the owner is extremely friendly and helpful giving us lot's of tips. Highly recommend this place for any visitors.

Old Street Tavern

A very cute small pub (NOT A MICROPUB). I've broken train journeys in Ludlow a few times, but this place was not on my radar. Good choice of four cask ales, and, if you must drink keg, an equally interesting range -I spotted Jaipur. Check out Untappd to get the gist. Cask around £5 a pint.

The Blood Bay

1 bitter, 1 stout, 1 cider.
Simple cheese and pickle cobs and 1 flavour(lightly salted) of crisps.

Proper old style pub. Lovely old fashioned interior, lovely bar staff and a delightful dog that finished my cob without having to beg. ???? I only gave it 4 stars for the food, because I prefer proper crusty cobs/baps/rolls/barms or whatever you like to call them!

Perfect for a Sunday afternoon pint and cob after wandering about the castle and church and town.

The Castle Inn

Great, proper pub in lovely surroundings. Perfectly kept garden. Really friendly service and friendly locals. Beer perfectly kept. Cash only but not a problem . . . When a pub doesn't look like a pub, it's probably good!

Chapter 66 Ludlow

We only had coffees and scones but the coffee was really good and the scones and jam were absolutely superb ! The scones are baked daily on the premises and are the best I have ever had.
We Intend to return very soon and have lunch.

Kin Kitchen

Freshly cooked food, lovely coffee and efficient staff that were friendly. For someone over 6ft I’d recommend ordering a few more items for your dish if ordering from the breakfast. ? I’d recommend sitting in the back garden soaking up the sun and atmosphere, it’s very relaxing. ?

The Angel Restaurant

Didn't have food , but lovely place for a nice fresh cold drink and very friendly staff. Need too book . Nearly all reserved at lunch time . Shall go again

Stopped in Ludlow for a break on a long journey. Haven't been for years. We saw Taste and they had a table available .

She had raspberry tart (the last one) I had to 'make do' with a Tarte Citron, also very good but don't tell her, it works both ways. Also had a sticky toffee biscoff. All good and the staff were lovely. What more can you ask for ?

The Cafe at ASE Ludlow

Great place. Had breakfast. Clean, great value and superb quality. The service is excellent. Food outstanding nothing too much trouble.
The lady ( sorry didn't catch her name) polite, helpful and a great cook.
Spotlessly clean floor, table , chairs and cutlery. Don't let the position put you off.
Best breakfast we have had in years. Great portion.

The Kingfisher

Visited a few nights ago as we couldn’t be bothered to cook, food is excellent and reasonably priced, they sell both English and Chinese and accept payment by cash or card, staff very helpful and highly recommend Irish curry sauce.

The Bridge

Cafe V

Nice little cafe. Worth a visit. This is a more traditional fry up cafe. The food was nice but it is on the more expensive side of this type of cafe. The people who run the place were very friendly amd the service was good. Unfortunately as we were there a group of lads inn a van turned up parked on the double yellow lines outside amd proceeded to have a go at an elderly gentleman trying to move his car. This of course is not Amy fault of the cafe but does highlight a problem with parking. I do believe this is worth a visit.

Parking: It is located on a main road on a busy junction with yellow lines and local resident parking on the road

Crumbs

It's good.

A very wide choice of sandwich fillings. The bread could be a bit better. I don't know where they source their bread, but it could have been softer and tastier.

But ultimately good. We'd go back. It's independently run and a local place. Go support it.

The Cliffe at Dinham

Lovely location. Very clean room with great shower and very comfortable bed.
A bit disappointed with the restaurant. The food was lovely but the restaurant itself was soulless. It felt bare like eating in a canteen.

Subway

Never been to a Subway before but were staying in Ludlow and decided to pop in to buy a quick snack. We were pleasantly surprised as we were able to choose our fillings in the rolls and thoroughly enjoyed them. The service was quick and efficient and gloves were worn at all times. The food was cheaper than I had expected.

Ye Olde Bull Ring Tavern

Everywhere else in Ludlow had stopped serving/ run out of food on a Sunday afternoon! So glad they had because the Bull Ring food was amazing. They were very busy but the service was excellent and the food arrived promptly.

Evergreen Fish Bar

Well, I will be honest here, I've eaten Chinese food at some of the best places in the UK and abroad, but this one takes some beating. We sometimes pop up to Ludlow caravan park for the weekend in our caravan. 2 weeks ago it was our friends birthday so I decided to treat him to a Chinese takeaway, Pail and Tracy, managers of the caravan site recommended Evergreen Chinese. We ordered our takeaway and it was amazing, plenty of food, very tasty and a good service. We decided to go back this week for a few nights and decided, we'll have another Evergreen takeaway and again it was amazing. We only live 20 miles away from the takeaway and decided that we will go for a ride on a Saturday collect our Chinese and head home, it is that good. Well done Evergreen and thank you.

The Plaice

People double park just to get their chips ! also plenty of selection of other yummies to go with. Big supermarket next door for more extra bits and bobs, then home to stay warm and enjoy.
The chip team are great and fun.
Place is clean, and food is fresh, simply because they have so much demand for their food.
Fantastic !

The Wheatsheaf Inn

We visited for dinner recently with family, and we were massively impressed. We had no expectations, but found everything delicious. Especially the ShortRib Beef, which was beautifully tender. The chips were probably the best I've ever had.

The puddings were well presented and generously proportioned. And we had practically a bucket of custard along with.

Service was wonderful and it's full of character. Very pleased, well recommended and will visit again.
