This is by far the BEST PUB for miles in Surrey Hills. Serve the most delicious food all day, NO BOOKING, fabulous staff, and a gorgeous pub that has not been ruined by modernisation. I have been to Mullins a number of times before, My go-to place when I’m in Dorking. If I could give it a six-star-rating, I would. Lunch today confirmed great, friendly service, delicious home-made food and a really kind and caring attitude. They welcomed my small dog and brought him water and rang for a cab for us, when we left. All done in the nicest possible way. The home-made cakes looked so scrummy I was tempted to take some home - i resisted with difficulty.

Just popped in for a quick light supper on a soggy Sunday evening and received such a lovely warm welcome here. Food was delicious and speedy and clearly really fresh and fragrant. Reservation online was super easy. We had a lovely lunch with amazing food. Our fish was fresh and dessert very indulgent. We've sampled most of the menu recently with various visits. Staff are welcoming and friendly, service is always great. Good range of drinks available, and simple but delicious menu. Proper pub grub! The inerior is tastefully decorated, a lovely garden and a hugely popular teepee for rainy days at the rear. We'll visit again soon.

Staff were very friendly and efficient without any fussing. The atmosphere is calm and peaceful. Seating is arranged so that you can sit anywhere, long tables that can invite strangers to sit together if they've a mind to. Great idea.
I had the vegetarian breakfast. Absolutely delicious. My first visit, I'll definitely be going back.

Denbies Wine Estate

Such a lovely day , the weather held out , which was perfect for the train ride around the estate. I visited on the 13 sept 2025 the grounds and the views are just outstanding... not forgetting what we came for wine of course, the brut wine on the tour was very nice and not over bubbly .... will definitely be returning next summer with a group of people and aim to walk around the estate more , I will share this wine estate with others.

Journey is not far from London either which is perfect, the train station is not far either!

A vegetarian's review! They don't advertise this on the menu but basically any dish can be had with paneer. I had paneer korai and my wife had paneer pathia. We had a brilliant Christmas meal at the Burford Bridge Restaurant with our group of 20 – honestly, the best one we’ve had in years!

The food was lovely all round, the service was great (our waitress was an absolute star), and they handled the gluten-free needs for the coeliac in our group perfectly – everyone was really happy.

The prawn cocktail was fresh and tasty with plenty of sauce. The turkey was cooked to perfection with gorgeous rich gravy, and the carrots had a subtle curry flavour that was surprisingly delicious. The chocolate torte was indulgent and properly rich – a fantastic way to finish.

I’d seen some mixed reviews online and wasn’t totally sure what to expect, but it turned out to be fantastic. Definitely recommend it for a big group celebration!

Ryka’s cafe at BoxHill, Surrey, UK has been around for donkeys years, a nice place to visit, especially if your into motorcycles and/or fast cars.
It can become very busy here in the summer and especially at weekends, more so if it’s a beautiful sunny day.
The atmosphere is very friendly and family orientated, Ryka’s cafe is situated next to the car park (at the bottom of BoxHill) toilets are also provided too, the food and beverages are really good and not too expensive, freshly cooked, the staff here are extremely good, welcoming and friendly.
The vibe here is really good and I believe you will enjoy yourselves!
Extensive outdoor seating is also provided so there are no worries getting yourself and your family seated, some indoor seating is also available.
If you so wish you can walk, drive or cycle up the nearby hill (warning, very steep uphill climb) to the top of BoxHill, from there you will be greeted by a fabulous view from the top of BoxHill looking over the counties of Surrey and West Sussex for miles and miles from the viewpoint of the North Downs.
A visit here is recommended!

This pub was a bit down at heel a few years ago but it's enjoying a renaissance. The chicken burgers are unreal, there's a lot of sport on - when I was there recently it was rugby on in the garden and football inside. Good to be in a pub with a bit of buzz to it. I have been ordering from the Golden Palace for 20 years. The owner back then was a delightful man, as was his son, and every dish I had was perfect. They sold up a few years, and finally the family that own it now are just as lovely, as is their food, same perfect standard as before.
