50 Spring Gardens, BuxtonA lovely place serving delicious food, I went for the desi breakfast which was very tasty, the masala beans and cumin spiced potato’s were excellent, my only complaint were the sausages tasted more walls than locally produced, it didn’t detract from an excellent breakfast though.
The staff were very friendly and the place was very clean with a very nice atmosphere.

33 High St, BuxtonLarge tourist pub in the centre of Buxton with a good atmosphere that felt friendly and staff knowledgeable about GF. \n\nThey offer the option of smaller plates which is really good if you are wanting to have a dessert as the portions are generous. I had a lovely haddock fish cake, fries and salad. My wife had non GF stilton mushrooms and we shared some salt and pepper chips. This really was too much extra chips but we were not expecting the small plates to be so large, however the salt and pepper chips were lovely. As dessert I had a very generous cheeseboard.\n\nThe only disappointment was the lack of Gluten Free beer (GF bottled Peroni does not hit the mark), so cider it was. This was particularly poor as 3 local breweries do GF beer. \n\nOverall, well worth visiting for GF food, but not for GF beer.

2 Burlow Rd, BuxtonAfter a long journey to a local AirB&B we wanted somewhere to eat close by. What an amazing place - the food was superb. My husband and I both chose different menu options and can honestly say it was some of the best pub food we have experienced. Portions were large, hot and filling. We will definitely go again if we return to the area.

1 The Quadrant, BuxtonBest meal out in a while this was. I had the special lamb in orzo with feta, my partner had the pork cutlets...my daughter the special sea bass and my son the chicken souvlaki. The service was great, immediately had water for the table, drinks were offered within a few minutes and arrived soon after. Food was VERY tasty - needed no extra seasoning - and decent sized portions. It wasn't that busy when we were there (7.15pm Monday evening) so didn't feel rushed at all.\nHighly recommend this place ?

35 High St, BuxtonLast minute:\nMy family and I visited this restaurant while on a camping holiday this bank holiday weekend. We called last minute for a table at 6pm on a Sunday evening and, though they didn’t have any tables free, they did offer us a table in the upstairs room, which we accepted as we were just grateful for the opportunity to eat there at such short notice. \n\nUpstairs:\nWhen we arrived, a few minutes later, we were welcomed with an apology. They offered for us to wait a little while for a table in the main restaurant or we could head straight upstairs to the table that had been set up for us. The upstairs room was lovely and still had easy access to toilets, which is crucial with 4 kids, and we ordered food and drinks. We had poppadoms and chutney tray to start, which arrived very quickly, and was delicious. Once our main courses were ready, we were given the option of moving downstairs into the main restaurant, or stay upstairs. Completely out choice. We chose to move downstairs to make it easier for the staff.\n\nDownstairs:\nOnce we made our way downstairs, our food was waiting for us on the table.\nThe food was excellent. The meat all cooked to perfection, the chicken Korma my kids ordered, tasted incredible, with loads of flavour in what can often be quite a bland dish. Not here though. The Pasanda and Bhuna that my wife and I had were sensational, again full of flavour. Cannot fault the food at all. It tasted incredible.\n\nService:\nThe service we received from Taj Mahal staff was outstanding. Not only did they accommodate us at the last moment, but everyone was very polite, nothing was too much trouble, everything was done with a smile.\n\nOverall, we were very impressed with Taj Mahal and highly recommend them to anyone who is in the area, looking for excellent food, fantastic service and all at a reasonable price. \n\nThank you Taj Mahal.

14 Dale Rd, BuxtonI really enjoyed the whole experience of this takeaway. The food was very tasty and came in large quantities as well. Going to pick up our order is rather special because the pickup point is in the actual kitchen and you can see the entire cooking process going on right there. Fascinating. I think the restaurant should consider creating a list of the vegetarian options as an additional section of the menu. There are veggie options but it would be good marketing to make them more easily visible. I would certainly use this restaurant again.

Bakewell Rd, BuxtonExcellent cafe with a good range of choice. I came here for breakfast and it cost us £16 for two which in today’s money is quite fair since we had big breakfasts. Staff were polite and friendly. Providing a fast service. The food was of good quality and was very tasty. Plenty of seating to choose from and a free large car park outside.

Except for the staff, some are surly, some are pleasant. At Buxton, they are all pleasant. There are plenty of regulars, so it must be doing something right.

One massive problem, it’s so so cold in there, it’s uncomfortably cold, when we went in I noticed other customers wearing coats, i understand it’s an old building but my gosh it’s Baltic, we didn’t have a puddings as we couldn’t stand it any longer

Got a large mixed kebab for about 11 quid - weirdly it wasn’t assembled but it could be as it was late - though they gave me enough meat and filling for about 3-4 kebabs! The image shown is after about 30 minutes of eating ! Tasted great too! Lovely music in there, very nice uncommon to the western ear stringed instrument recording played in the shop. Lovely! Just what you want from a kebab shop!

Nothings ever Hit & miss here, which you find is common in most other Chinese takeaways.
Their choice of sizing for portions is always generous. This is a help when ordering for a few people, and never leaves a hole in my pocket.
All in all its a win win. My only suggestion would be that the restaurant would benefit from a lick of paint.

Conveniently placed near the theatre the staff were able to give us a table without a booking, probably the last one available pre-theatre meals are offered but probably the best time to go is after seven when the restaurant does clear a little.\nWe enjoyed ourselves the first time so much we returned on the last night of our holiday to enjoy a steak and duck with cherries and the world's biggest profiterole!\nI had never had a lemoncello cocktail before, cooling and delicious.\nNot overpriced.\nWe shall return with G@S in 2026

I’m still to work my way through the full menu (& I will) but the dishes I have sampled so far have been wonderful. Now I don’t mind a wait especially in such calm surroundings and for good food, it can be busy which is no surprise because the food is cooked with care and absolutely delicious. It’s the place the locals flock to so you know it’s good.

Main St, Chelmorton, BuxtonReally nice traditional pub. Enjoyed a few pints of Birra Moretti in here. Really nice lively pint, clearly well maintained lines and pumps etc. Had a meal in here. Chips were a very good size portion, which I can't praise enough because portion sizes of sides in many pub grub places are becoming very disappointing. The church in however, had a big bowl of really nice homemade chips that tasted fantastic. My Mrs had proper food which she enjoyed but I'm all about the chips. Service was fantastic. Only seemed to be two teenage girls working in there but both were a credit to the place and seemed more experienced and hard working and better at their jobs than most of the barstaff I have ever experienced. Food and drinks were delivered quickly and even though it got quite busy whilst I was there the place ran smoothly and everything was ship shape.
In summary, really well run pub with great pints, great food and great staff.
