50 Spring Gardens, BuxtonA lovely place serving delicious food, I went for the desi breakfast which was very tasty, the masala beans and cumin spiced potato’s were excellent, my only complaint were the sausages tasted more walls than locally produced, it didn’t detract from an excellent breakfast though.
The staff were very friendly and the place was very clean with a very nice atmosphere.

I took a friend for coffee and to check out the menu for another day... really tempting. The drinks were good and reasonably priced, the service just right and what a lovely place. ? 2 Burlow Rd, BuxtonAfter a long journey to a local AirB&B we wanted somewhere to eat close by. What an amazing place - the food was superb. My husband and I both chose different menu options and can honestly say it was some of the best pub food we have experienced. Portions were large, hot and filling. We will definitely go again if we return to the area.

The restaurant really looked after us with a couple of freebies due to a high order which was very much appreciated and we’ll most definitely be ordering again as we have done prior anyway.

1 The Quadrant, BuxtonCame to Buxton for a Xmas walk and catch up with family. 4 of us ate here on the Friday evening without booking. The service was excellent and attentive. Food was tasty and plentiful. Friendly atmosphere and a nice change from the usual fayre on offer. Glad we chose here and would come back again.

Bakewell Rd, BuxtonExcellent cafe with a good range of choice. I came here for breakfast and it cost us £16 for two which in today’s money is quite fair since we had big breakfasts. Staff were polite and friendly. Providing a fast service. The food was of good quality and was very tasty. Plenty of seating to choose from and a free large car park outside.

Going to pick up our order is rather special because the pickup point is in the actual kitchen and you can see the entire cooking process going on right there. Fascinating. I think the restaurant should consider creating a list of the vegetarian options as an additional section of the menu. There are veggie options but it would be good marketing to make them more easily visible. I would certainly use this restaurant again.

A big place, stuffed with original features, a great fireplace and beautiful old sash windows.
Staff were helpful and food inexpensive, tasty and well presented.
Three real ales on, on the day of our visit. Place was quiet but imagine it would get busy on nights that the theatre was open, as it's only 20 yards away.

Got a large mixed kebab for about 11 quid - weirdly it wasn’t assembled but it could be as it was late - though they gave me enough meat and filling for about 3-4 kebabs! The image shown is after about 30 minutes of eating ! Tasted great too! Lovely music in there, very nice uncommon to the western ear stringed instrument recording played in the shop. Lovely! Just what you want from a kebab shop!

The Great Panda Restaurant
7 Eagle Parade, BuxtonWe've tried most of the Chinese takeaways in Buxton over the years, but the Great Panda is the one we always come back to. Why? Because we've always found the food is good and cooked to order, the portions generous, the prices reasonable and the owners super-friendly.\n\nObviously we haven't tried every dish on the Great Panda's (extensive!) menu, but I can recommend their salt and pepper spare ribs; lemon chicken; sweet and sour tofu; sweet and sour chicken balls; crispy duck and sesame prawn toast just to name a few favourites. And their chicken fried rice is excellent.\n\nWe're not talking Michelin-star cookery here, just good, honest Westernised Chinese food, freshly cooked. To anyone who's been disappointed with their experience here, you should tell the owners straight away; it's easy to moan on TripAdvisor after the event, but if you don't tell folk at the time when something's gone wrong how can you expect them to put it right?\n\nAnyway, just my honest opinion, but the Great Panda is well worth a try if you're in Buxton and fancy a Chinese takeaway. We love it - you might too.

George Street the old courthouse, BuxtonAfter a day on the hills and not knowing what time we would be ready for dinner we didnt book anywhere so took a punt here. Turned out it was a great choice. Very attentive staff and lovely food. Venison was superb as was the beef stroganoff, cod with chorizo (& 1x turkey dinner as it was xmas) Meal for 4 with wine beer, 1x sweet & cocktails for £180 was excellent value and 4 very satisfied customers. We will be back. And has a great cocktail bar next door!??

I’m still to work my way through the full menu (& I will) but the dishes I have sampled so far have been wonderful. Now I don’t mind a wait especially in such calm surroundings and for good food, it can be busy which is no surprise because the food is cooked with care and absolutely delicious. It’s the place the locals flock to so you know it’s good.

The Church Inn
Main St, Chelmorton, BuxtonReally nice traditional pub. Enjoyed a few pints of Birra Moretti in here. Really nice lively pint, clearly well maintained lines and pumps etc. Had a meal in here. Chips were a very good size portion, which I can't praise enough because portion sizes of sides in many pub grub places are becoming very disappointing. The church in however, had a big bowl of really nice homemade chips that tasted fantastic. My Mrs had proper food which she enjoyed but I'm all about the chips. Service was fantastic. Only seemed to be two teenage girls working in there but both were a credit to the place and seemed more experienced and hard working and better at their jobs than most of the barstaff I have ever experienced. Food and drinks were delivered quickly and even though it got quite busy whilst I was there the place ran smoothly and everything was ship shape.
In summary, really well run pub with great pints, great food and great staff.
