Restaurants in Corbridge
The Pele
Market Pl, CorbridgeGreat venue. Converted tower with two floors above the bar. Specialises in flavoured gins and matched tonics. Delicious. Can recommend the blood orange combo and their cocktails. Lady running the bar is super helpful. I visited twice during my stay in Corbridge. A real treat.

The Watling Coffee House
11 Watling St, CorbridgeWe would recommend this cafe, but would pay a visit to other cafes locally before returning.
We decided to pay a visit to this cafe after reading all the great reviews on here. Parking is easy within the village and the buildings easy to find on the corner as you enter the high street.
The staff are friendly, food lovely and drinks good, but service slightly lacking. It took a long time for our order to be taken and others got the opportunity to order before us despite arriving a long time after.
Once it had arrived, the eggs Benedict that we happily substituted for, as our originally option was not available, was unique and very tasty. The bun was a white roll served with the a pesto-like sauce along with all the usually things.
This cafe also looks like an excellent option for a lunchtime meal after seeing some very cost friendly and fulfilling offerings on the menu.
Overall, I would suggest this is a nice option to get some breakfast, but I would likely explore other local options before coming back.

The Corbridge Larder
18 Hill St, CorbridgePopped in for a take away coffee on the way to Housesteads. Honestly one of the best lattes I’ve had in while. My son loved the rocky road too, I can’t comment on that as I didn’t get a look in. Thanks.

Corbridge Sandwich Bar
1 Middle St, CorbridgeGreat sandwich shop with a large choice of fresh fillings; the home cooked ham is fantastic. The winner for me has to be the home made flapjack, awesome, the best I have ever tasted.

Corbridge Tandoori
8 Market Pl, CorbridgeWent to the bakery place next door and the children were hungry. We happened upon this place and met a lovely Bangladeshi man, who welcomed us warmly. He gave suggestions and my children went for the butter chicken, which is the chicken makhni, with naan and rice. The garlic naan and the curry was one of the best I’ve had. The service was impeccable and the mango lassi is just what I needed in the 26 degree heat. The village itself is lovely with all the lovely residents. The restaurant is very affordable with a lovely atmosphere and authentic dishes

Hill St, CorbridgeWent up here last weekend with my husband for our anniversary.he has previously eaten here whilst working in the area and liked it that much we went up for our anniversary. Would recommend to anyone, it's a lovely family owned business and run by the owners who can't do enough to make you feel welcome and at home. The food is amazing and the portions are insane! The whole place is clean and comfy and the owners are just brilliant, you can tell how much they care about the place and their customers. We will definitely be going back there again

Tea and Tipple
18 Market Pl, CorbridgeI was very impressed with Tea & Tipple. The coronation chicken sandwich was delicious and the gluten free options were great. My mam is coeliac and is used to getting tasteless bread that falls apart from cafes - not so at the Tea & Tipple. Her sandwich was made with delicious bread that tastes homemade. We will definitely be returning!

The Blue Bell, Hill St, CorbridgeCollected 2 Sunday Lunch’s as gift for in laws on Father’s Day. Short wait for the order but staff kept me updated. Dinners (pork) were delicious, hot and plentiful (in fact they struggled to eat it all) Really good value too.

The Wellington
Main Road, Prudhoe, Riding MillUPDATE FOLLOWING REPLY
It's good that a company replies although, in this case, it was somewhat defensive as your responses to all 3 issues raised was to quote company policy. So:
1) I didn't find payment complicated, just over processed, as did the staff. It just needs to be made easier.
2) With the gluten free requirement you didn't recognise that my booking details had been ignored & we were both given standard menus.
3) You may well serve sandwiches until 4pm (no snacks after then?) but I was refused at 12pm!
Basically, you're a pub with a restaurant. Customer expectations include good service with a range of good food/drink options available at flexible times. We shouldn't need to do a deep dive into a website. You're a people business!
The staff were very attentive, professional & friendly. Clearly trained in the art of "up-selling" At the time of booking, we did advise that one guest needed gluten free but this seemed to have been missed.
The food options we chose were pretty good and not bad value at the promotion price. The menu wasn't entirely clear on gluten free options.
The payment process was a bit painful as a voucher offer was being used. A very long number had to be entered into the till. This was part of an email which I could easily have deleted prior to the visit.
Fortunately, I hadn't but with your Wi-Fi unavailable & little or no phone signal in Riding Mill on my EE network, there was a potential problem.
Eventually, I managed to open the email. Just as well as we were informed that the alternative would have been to pay full price.
I am sure that you could simplify this process in future.
My second food visit to the Wellington. On the first occasion I was with 3 friends. Whilst they wanted hot meals, all I wanted was a sandwich. I was told that they didn't do sandwiches!
If I decide to risk another food visit - third time lucky!!

The Valley
The Valley, The Old Station House, Station Road, CorbridgeWhat a wonderful experience we have had. From start to finish everything was great. Our drinks were served to us in the reception area. Once our table was ready we were escorted upstairs to the restaurant. We had poppadoms and the pickle tray. All the pickles were fresh and extremely tasty. Our mains, side, rice and breads followed and were delicious (best was the cabbage side) and we ate everything. Thanks so much for your hospitality and a special thanks goes to the chef.

The Amber Chinese Takeaway
St Helen's St, CorbridgeThe Amber Chinese takeaway is a little hidden away in Corbridge on St Helen's Street.
There is good parking outside while you pop in to order or wait to collect your food.
The building, inside and out, does not fill you with confidence that what you order will be anything amazing. While clean and tidy, it is a little dated.
The food, however, is excellent. We opted for the set two person menu with sweet and sour chicken and beef in black bean sauce. This came with soup - the best we've had - spring rolls, prawn crackers, and egg fried rice.
We also added a chicken with cashews, which was light and delicious.
Sharing between three people we had lots left over, despite our best efforts. The portions are generous and all of the food was excellent.
The Amber offers good tasty Chinese food at reasonable prices served quickly. Highly recommended.

The Angel Of Corbridge
Main St, CorbridgeI met a friend today for an early lunch at the Angel in Corbridge, where we went for the classics -fish and chips and a burger.
I don't usually have burgers (they're not part of my eating routine), but l'd been quietly looking forward to this one.
And it didn't disappoint me: juicy beef, a good dose of flavour and the gherkins pulling their weight.
Afterwards, I felt rather like those travellers of old, arriving weary at the posting inn and finding themselves well looked after.

Angel Street Food
C/O Angel Inn Main Street, CorbridgeThe Fish and Chips were huge! After a long day of flights and airport issues, the Angel was a quick bus ride from Newcastle where we started our Hadrian's Wall hike. The Angel has been welcoming travelers since 1752 and it did not disappoint. It was the perfect place to decompress. We enjoyed a wonderful meal and a few pints overlooking the historic stone bridge over the River Tyne. The Angel is easy walking distance to the Corbridge Rome Town. After good night sleep and a hearty breakfast, we were off on the hike. The hotel staff ensured our bags were marked and loaded in the vans to be transported to the next hotel. The Angel Inn takes excellent care of travelers. Hope to return again.

The Wheatsheaf
St Helen's St, CorbridgeWent for Sunday Carvery lunch. I had beef on my mind before arrival, but as a matter of course, they cook the beef well done (no blood at all). It's a personal taste thing, but I really like my beef rare for a Sunday Roast. The service was excellent though. Apart from the beef issue and being given a set number of roasties (unable to serve yourself), it was good.
