Have eaten here previously and both visits have been great but the Sunday roast was top notch - everything was cooked to perfection including the buttery soft, pink beef. Lovely wine selection too. Service was brilliant - staff checked in during each course to check everything was OK - attentive but not overbearing. It appeared that most, if not all, of the tables were booked and the restaurant was busy, however the service and pace of dishes being served (and plates subsequently being cleared from the table) was faultless. No delays but also not rushed - a lovely relaxing end to the weekend! Just a really fabulous visit ?

Tesco Cafe
Station Rd, ThirskI bought my mum 2 sprays of carnations on the 6th November 2019 and she has told me that they still are looking gorgeous and have not wilted to date. What a great purchase they were. My mum is thrilled as they are her favourite flowers and can't believe I got them in a store. Well done Tescos and thank you. Susan Robson

Beck Ln, South Kilvington, ThirskCalled in here before going to Thirsk races based on the reviews when searching for somewhere nearby. We weren’t disappointed!
Husband had ham, egg and chips and I had the homemade chilli - both were absolutely delicious and good value for money. The whole menu sounded lovely and a lovely Friday lunchtime atmosphere too. We will certainly return next time we’re back in the area and would recommend. Just gutted we were so excited to tuck in I forgot to take a food photo!

79-81 Market Pl, ThirskCalled in the book shop on a busy, warm day visiting Thirsk Decided the menu look tempting so stayed for a cream tea and a savoury tea. Sat outside in the lovely garden. One of the best cheese scones I’ve had in a long time.

Horsebreakers Arms Inn
Hutton Sessay, ThirskThe barman is an absolute gent. Massive Grimsby supporter which nearly made me drop a star, the man can't understand any other accent than Yorkshire as well which almost made him lose a star.
But his charm and warmness came through and cemented the five stars. Keep up the good work my man!
The pub is an absolute a credit to the caravan club, bring owners together whilst the products served are very good as well.

Stacey was so nice and friendly and made us really welcome, gave us information about the area which was very useful
We had 2 meals there, cooked by the chef Steve both were delicious and very good value

42 Long St, ThirskDined there last night fir friends birthday. Food was amazing, I had the special lamb Koriah....superb. The naan bread was the best I have tasted. My friend enjoyed her Chicken Korma. Price unbelievable. Service slow, but really nice staff. Overall 5 stars will definitely come again xx

They had a singer on. It was a great night. The cost of a pint is more than Wetherspoons but not much more. Well worth it. ?

Carlton Miniott, ThirskVisited here with family while we were staying at woodland lake lodges. There were 8 of us in total. The service was excellent and the food was even better! We were only booked in to eat here on the Saturday night, but we all said that the food was so good, we went back for the carvery on the Sunday. I think it's fair to say I'd stay at the woodland lake lodges again just to eat here again!

30 Market Pl, ThirskWe were travelling back to Manchester having visited Middlesborough last Saturday & decided to make a pit stop recce of Thirsk. We were quite peckish & decided to get a bacon butty. We saw the queue at Thomas' & didn't have much time (only paid for an hour parking) so went to Greggs, to who, I am eternally grateful for saying they stopped serving bacon butties after 11am (it was 10 past) so we returned to Thomas' the queue was still long, however, the speed & efficiency of the friendly staff was amazing, we were served very quickly. The value of the Coffee & bacon butty at £3.50 made me think it would be quite basic, however, (& this is the reason for my review) this was without doubt the very best bacon sandwich I have ever had!! 3 of the thickest leanest slices of quality bacon on the freshest of buns plus a large high quality coffee. Wow, it is so rare to have such a quality experience, it is literally all I talked about on the journey home. Thank you & well done Thomas' for maintaining value & quality, in this age of mediocrity . I can't wait to return.

Busby Stoop Inn Busby Stoop Road, ThirskWe are staying at the local lodges and ordered food for 6. We tried four curries each was absolutely fantastic. It was steaming hot, fresh with just the right amount of spice so that we could appreciate the flavour. The cost was very reasonable. We are looking forward to ordering from here again.
