We went here on the Saturday for a meal and it was just lovely! My beef burger was one of the nicest burgers I've had in a while, and the steak was cooked lovely with so much flavour.

Really good customer service and reasonable prices given how lovely the food was and will likely come again!

We came in on special expecting normal cafe fair but tbh this place far exceeded expectations. Lovely staff and atmosphere and the food.
We both ordered jacket spuds with prawns and salad.
To start the plates themselves are lovely, the spud was well cooked with a nob of real butter, a generous portion of prawns in Mary rose and a fresh large salad. A proper home made salad dressing and decent black pepper and sea salt.
All for a very reasonable price.
This place is a gem.

We visited today. The place is relaxed , peaceful and has a good vibe. Great menu too with very reasonable pricing. Smelled amazing . Unfortunately our son who has a disability had a self induced accident and cut his head (was fine soon after). The owner was so kind to him and helpful. He brought over a first aid kit. Really appreciated it. We will be back!

The food was exquisite. Delicate flavours with richness and depth. Honestly couldn't fault any of the main dishes. The service was friendly and the atmosphere great, even at 6pm on a Thursday evening. My only reservation is that, despite eating three courses, we came away hungry. The oxtail with chick peas was a classic, hearty dish, but the portions very modest and the other dishes were similarly sized. Good bread to support the mains would have helped a lot, but at £5 a portion (we had some with the starters), one felt... well, a little short- changed to be honest. A shame. But do try it for yourself - there's much to enjoy.

Amazing food!!! We have the pit burgers and some loaded fries and you could taste the ingredients were well sourced and cooked perfectly. Great outdoor area and kept warm with them lighting a wood fire! Didn’t go inside but looked very cosy.

We had a family lunch, last month, celebrating my son’s Birthday, a visit for lunch with my daughter yesterday and again for lunch, today with a friend. As usual, staff were very attentive and professional, whilst having time for a bit of banter, (which I appreciate). Passing through we had the best pub food here we have had for as long as we can remember. The quality of ingredients was evident . My husband had the Thai buffet ( Wednesday night) which could not be faulted and was freshly cooked and plentiful. I had rump steak cooked to med perfectly and with fresh delicately prepared veg. The homemade mayonnaise served on request was devine! I wish we lived locally to here. The prices are very fair considering the quality of the food and fresh ingredients. Well done to this establishment , definitely worth 5 star.

The best Indian in Devon, not only was the lamb pasanda amazing, but the butter chicken was the best ive ever had. The service was impeccable, complimentary orange slices, shots (sambuca and coffee cream liquor) hot towels and a doggy bag for what we couldn't finish as portion size was great. Deserts were lush i had a coconut ice cream in a coconut shell, the pina colada ice cream sundae was awesome. Nothing beats the standard of food atmosphere and service 1000% recommend.

Superb lunch for four today. Certainly not pub grub. Had wow porchetta w butter beans and chorizo that was sublime. My husband had two starters amd friends vension burgers. Shared a complex and delicious chocolate pudding. Coffee was first class. We were late w our five mile walk taking us ten minutes longer than anticipated. We phoned to let them know when we got signal. Not a problem; we were welcomed late. Lime and soda bloody delicious. Not sure why it has taken us do long to discover. Coming back.

Just moved into the area and thought to give Bovey fish bar a try and boy, I am glad I did. The chaps in there a top notch and so friendly even offered me some home made tartar sauce. Which was lovely btw. Chips very nice, fish on the smaller side but packed full of flavour and the batter was top notch! You can tell they frequently change the frying oil! Can only recommend and I'll be back for sure! Thanks chaps, really enjoyed my fish and chips ?

We stopped here yesterday for lunch before going on to our hotel. Fab food and lots of it. My husband had the cheese and red onion chutney toastie and I had had chicken Gyros wrap. Both delicious and a very good tea and latte. Would highly reccomend. Great staff too.
