50 Fore St, TotnesMy husband and I have been to Gather on several occasions and have never been disappointed. The food is utterly delicious and is always presented beautifully. We have several dietary requirements in our family but nothing has ever been too much trouble for the chefs and we have always been well looked after. I would like to give a special mention to front of house member Poppy. She is friendly, polite, attentive and always has a smile on her face. She is also very knowledgeable on the menu and we can see how hard she works to give us a memorable evening. It's a joy to have her looking after us! Hopefully we will be visiting again soon!

30 High St, TotnesGreat choice we opted for small plates and highly recommend Korean wings quite spicy but so tasty as was the crispy calamari. Also had specials fishcake which was delicious. All the staff were super friendly, sufficiently attentive and efficient. Great cocktails too.Nice relaxed ambience. Would definitely return and recommend.

Brockhills Barns, HarbertonfordThis place has such a warm and welcoming atmosphere! There's a cozy café on site, and the food is fantastic. It's a lovely spot to sit outside and enjoy a coffee or tea. A special shout-out to the receptionist, who went above and beyond—my child asked for ice cream, and even though it wasn’t something they typically serve separately, she kindly made it happen. That small gesture meant a lot. Highly recommended!

We had the beef, which came with Yorkshire Pudding, carrots red cabbage, potatoes and brocolli/leeks in cheese.
Absolutely delicious.
We didn't have a starter so we had space for dessert but when the time came, we didn't even have space for the apple crumble, which I was looking forward to.
It's all table service, wonderful, atmospheric ex-kitchens as dining hall. There's also a bar area. Great chatty ambience - not too loud!

Coronation Rd, TotnesOne of my favourite things about this branch of Morrisons is the large car park, all on one level & I feel safe (as much as anyone can be!) leaving my sports motorcycle parked in allocated bays for Motorcycles near the entrance. Large deli, good bakery, fresh fish & plenty of meat for us carnivores..

The Plains, TotnesGreat choice of menu we opted for pizza and caprese salad which I highly recommend. All the staff were super friendly, sufficiently attentive and efficient. We returned a second night and had the charcuterie board which was excellent.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Coppa Dolla Inn, and I have to say, the homemade pies absolutely blew us away! We ordered the full Roast Chicken with stuffing and gravy pie, which came with a side of baguette, and a 2-in-1 pie featuring half cauliflower cheese and half Roast Chicken with stuffing and gravy—both were beautifully presented and tasted spot-on. The pies were hearty, flavorful, and exactly what I was craving—comfort food at its finest!
We were also impressed by the sides. The carrots, leeks, and red cabbage that came with the 2-in-1 pie complemented the dish perfectly. The care and attention to detail in the presentation and flavors were evident, and we couldn't help but appreciate the overall experience.
As a parent of a fussy 2-year-old, I was thrilled to see him devour the classic toad in the hole from the kids’ menu. It’s not often he finishes his meal, but the fact he enjoyed every bite really speaks volumes!
While we didn’t have room for dessert (although I’m regretting not trying the sticky toffee pudding or Coppa Mess after seeing them), everything we had was fantastic. A huge thank you to James for all his hard work in making these amazing pies and for serving us with a smile during the busy rush hour! We also want to give a special shout-out to the lady who served us at the bar (apologies for not catching your name)—your draft beer recommendation was spot on!
A quick note for future visitors: be sure to book in advance as walk-ins are rare due to how popular this place is. Parking is free on-site, and the pub itself has a wonderfully quirky, homely, and cozy vibe that adds to the overall charm.
Highly recommend this spot for anyone in search of a comforting, hearty meal with top-notch service!

St Peter's Quay, TotnesOur second visit here but under the new management since we last visited it well exceeded our expectations. Upon our we had a warm welcome from Oz who checked us in and briefed us on options. Our room No 5 was simply fabulous. Huge room with a bath in the bedroom. We did use it once and not only did it fill quickly it was lovely and hot. Bed and pillows perfect had great sleeps. Bathroom very large too. All tastefully decorated and furnished. Spotlessly clean. Biscuits and bottled water in the room daily. Breakfast was the best helped by the lovely smiling Jess. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Great asset to the team. Breakfast fantastic value as a resident as you could have whatever you wanted. Granola yoghurt honey particularly good as were the pancakes with crispy bacon. To be fair all the staff we encountered were the best. The only place I would stay and its location on the River Dart is unbeatable. Highly recommend.

The Plains, TotnesVisited today for a beer and a meal, fantastic service with really friendly staff. Excellent selection of beers and spirits from St Austell brewery and affiliates.
Food was well priced, and really great quality, the menu is expansive and covers any dietary requirements , proper pub food with a posher twist , the chap that took our order was incredibly welcoming and even asked whether we had any allergies.

The Sea Trout Inn
Staverton, TotnesI recently hosted a celebration lunch here for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. We were a group of 27 and the whole event went perfectly.
The Sea Trout team were welcoming and very helpful throughout. We organised a pre-order and the kitchen team provided a delicious menu that we all enjoyed. Personally I had the Pork Belly, which was cooked perfectly, soft and crispy and an amazing sticky toffee pudding.
Overall, a lovely celebration, everyone in attendance was super happy.

2 Mill Ln, TotnesWent to Totnes today. Called at The Silver Grill.(just a few minutes walk from the bus) The fish & chips were the best I've had in years. Standard size was more than enough & it was absolutely delicious. I definitely recommend this place to everyone. We sat outside in the sun. The staff really friendly & helpful. I can't eat batter, so they did my fish without & it wasn't any trouble for them, they didn't mind. Silver Grill is my No 1???

I can honestly say it was the best breakfast I've ever eaten, great portions (you certainly didn'tneed to eat lunch after this), quality food, accommodated my dietary needs. Cott Ln, Dartington, TotnesI hadn't been to the Cott for quite a while, it's always had a great reputation. I went for lunch with friends yesterday and we weren't disappointed. Everything on the menu sounded delicious, we all had the seafood salad which was so delicious I'll have to go back again to have it again soon. It comes with skinny fries and a slice of sourdough, beautifully presented.

Harberton, TotnesThe chef in here ex Saint John In London and ex Seahorse In Dartmouth. It’s probably the best food that I’ve eaten in the last 10 years. Ask him for the monkfish or the beef with dripping or if you’re very very lucky, see if you can get him to make you the squid.
