Bacaro

My second time visiting and we had a delicious meal here.

The service was friendly, professional and kind. The atmosphere is lovely and makes for a special evening. It is on the expensive side (not wild but on the higher end) but you could order carefully if you needed to keep the cost down.

I'll always recommend Bacaro when people say they want somewhere special.

La Regata

Best tapas in Southampton by far! The staff are always great and the food is fantastic and comes out in good time, definitely recommend to any fans of Spanish cuisine

Turtle Bay Southampton

Tabs was the best waitress, the drinks were amazing and the food was fantastic with the plantain being amazing, the curry goat was seasoned to perfection and I would always recommend to come here

Brought an afternoon tea voucher for this venue from red letter days and used it today. As well as the food being great & with a good variety, the staff were lovely. Would visit here again!

Késarum

My husband and I visited this restaurant when we were on vacation from Dehli. We are both non veg, but we decided to try the vegan butter chicken here. we have both eaten in the hotel in Dehli many times where butter chicken was invented, and these people have really made it par excellence! Really surprised that they have made it so delicious and without any meat or dairy. I really give my commendations to this very small team for such a great vegan meal. I would ignore the couple complaining below. Kesarum have definitely not misrepresented any dish whatsoever. they are clueless about Indian food and I think they were expecting Bangladeshi type so decided to nit-pick at anything to bring these guys down.

Sharkeys Sports Bar

Great spot to watch football! Amazing atmosphere, big screen, and good people all around. The staff is friendly and they look after you. They offer loyalty card and VIP rooms available the drinks are cold, and the food is good . They have pool tables and darts games it’s place to be with friends and family highly recommend for match days! George on the bar was very helpful!

Soleto Bistro

Made a booking at Soleto in the afternoon and arrived in the evening greeted with a smile and guided to our table and from there the evening was just sublime. The food and service was just unchallenged. I didn’t even Ben manage to take photos of the food because it was gone before I even thought about it! The recommendations on the food were spot on! Portion sizes were great and food was simply delicious! Best dinner out in years! Absolutely no complaints here!! Not the cheapest but here you get what you pay for really applies. I expect the chef is worth his weight in gold as was the server and the host! We will be back!! Soooon….. Thank you for restoring our faith that there are still gems to find out there! Shel& Jay!

The very best steak in Southampton. The atmosphere & ambience is hushed making the restaurant almost like a cathedral to steak. Staff are extremely attentive & knowledgeable about the food. Waiting times for food are very short & all food is cooked to order. I have taken my wife here for special meals on a number of occasions.

Costa Coffee

3 am and was pleased to find somewhere open.This is within the hospitqlThis Costa is 24 hours which is great.The lady serving was very polite and professional.A large range of products, although a few had run out.I felt the vegan rocky road was expensive for a small slice.All in all very useful.Plenty of seating available.Dietary restrictions: A few vegan optionsWheelchair accessibility: Ground floorAccessible

The Bucks Head

Very difficult to review: as a pub it is excellent; but accommodation wise it represented by far the worst value for money on our entire hike along the South Downs Way! The room was small, awkwardly shaped, taps broken, light not working (offered to fix), noise from the toilet upstairs! Tiniest TV I’ve ever seen (not used), just instant coffee, no milk (unless you ask), just one chair, no luggage stand, quirky but impractical hand basin, no shampoo conditioner or body lotion, no usb socket, WiFi drops out in half the room, bathroom fan that goes on forever! For £140 I’d expect much much much more - however, breakfast was excellent with great proper coffee! Service very good & pub food excellent too. Great pub, but feel I’ve been ripped off with the room ?

The Shoe Inn

I just discovered this most beautiful Inn when browsing on line for pubs along the river in Hampshire. I fell upon a gem here! Idyllic setting, a variety of seating & tables to eat outdoors along the river. The menu looked amazing, a good variety. We just stopped for a refreshing drink & sat along the river watching the fish jumping. You can purchase fresh baked bread & other provisions. It's truly an idyllic place with very obliging, friendly, attentive staff.

The Red Lion

What an amazing place! History, beers and food all in one place. I recommend the Liver and Bacon. You have got to have a drink here, you may even see the ghost of King Henry V.

The Ship Inn

Lovely warm welcome.

Service was great and food was really good value.

Only flaw was the onion rings, or was like having a mouthful of grease.

Gammon was really tasty.
Cordon bleu chicken very tender
Fish and chips were great
Liver was tender and tasty.

Used this place a lot when passing through. Fabulous fresh burritos made at the counter. There are 5 vegan or veggie options at certain times - chilli, seitan, jackfruit and halloumi - or could also do a burrito without the protein filling but bulk up the pintos and black beans. Also loads of meat and prawn options too.

Amazing customer service, very friendly, and accommodating, generous and caring, energetic and funny too

Food is good and fills you up, wide selection even for vegetarians or pescatarians

Price is fairly reasonable and location is easy to access

The Thai Corner Restaurant

We visited this resturant on a Saturday lunchtime. I had reserved however it wasn’t needed as it wasn’t busy. However what I will say is even though it wasn’t busy at that particular time, the phone was ringing off the hook for bookings constantly. I can see why. The food was amazing. Quentin was our server. He was super kind, attentive (but not too much) and was very welcoming which was nice.

We were offered prawn crackers with sweet chilli dip. These felt fresh and were flavoursome. There was a special lunchtime menu. I went for this and my guest had two starters (smaller appetite) I had the chicken satay to start, the sauce was lovely. Beautiful flavour, good temperature and tasty. The chicken had a nice marinade and was throughly cooked. My guest had the fish patties. Tad on the hot (spicy) side for her so we swapped halfway through. I found them to be manageable and tasty, not too fishy if that makes sense.

For main I had the garlic and pepper stir fry with beef and my guest had the tempura prawn starter. OMG the stir fry was just amazing. Honestly I couldn’t fault it. If I could have had another one I would have but I wanted to save room for desert lol

The coconut mousse was ok. Consistency was light and the taste was nice. I would have liked the coconut to be stronger but that’s just me. I chose the mango and passion fruit coulis which went well. The cheesecake was good too. We wanted to try two desserts that were shown as being home made.

I can safely say I will be going back, I have other things I want to try on the menu. A nice location, very easy to park and just a really nice place to sit, watch the world go by and eat good food :)

Zizzi - Southampton

I came here for dinner last night, and I have mixed feelings on the place. \n\nFirst of all, it is very tight inside. Lots of tables not a lot of room to move about, feel very sat on top of one another. \n\nMy friend and I was sat down for 2.1 second before the waitress took our order, we had a mocktail each which was nice but there was no garnish and didn’t look at all like the pictures. \n\nThe food was nice, we got the sharing starter and the lasagne for main, was very nice and filling. The service was quick but a little frustrating at times? I had 2 people come over multiple times to ask if my food is okay, which I do appreciate but it was a lot when I was trying to eat/catch up with my friend. \n\nI’lld cone back but only on a weekday when it isn’t as busy and you get to use blue light card as Saturdays they don’t accept any discounts

Slice & Bites Soton

Just visited Slice & Bites Soton after a long drive from Birmingham. Here for Southampton Uni open day tomorrow and ever hungry teenage son needed to satisfy his midnight craving. He ordered a crispy stack meal with drink. The fries were deliciously crispy (I had a good taste), not at all oily and not too salty. Freshly fried chicken fillet. Again, not oily just deliciously nice amd crispy. The staff were super friendly and helpful in providing local knowledge of the area too. Definitely recommend this place. The portion size was generous and not too badly priced.

Excellent evening celebrating our Wedding Anniversary. Complimentary prosecco & little hearts on the table. Excellent food & service. Faultless. We will be back soon.

The Forge

Inside and food as expected from the many reviews. Outside bit if a let down. Parking is limited definitely need a 4x4 to park in the over flow area. Very rough ground. Can't park on the road either. Would return but only weekdays. Overall very good ?.

Thaiger Lounge restaurant

My first experience of Thai food and I can safely say I’ll be back again very soon!
Food was lovely, staff were sooo friendly and welcoming and very helpful in finding a suitable dish

The place is always busy, sometimes too busy.
Food is great, portion sizes are very generous and I wish they would deliver although if they did it could be the end of me.

The Jetty

Had a lovely dinner at The Jetty. We were quite early as we had somewhere to be that evening but the staff were all friendly and ready to welcome us. Throughout the evening service was attentive, and the food was excellent. We had fish and chips, and it was the sort of fish and chips that reminds you how good it can be, and how poor it often is. The atmosphere was a touch flat, but we were eating at 6pm so that is not a huge surprise, more our fault for eating so early. Would definitely go back when in Southampton

Food is good. Not quite as good as non-chain places but very tasty.
Service was a tad slow, but it was a busy Saturday night and the staff are really good, friendly and happy to help.
The virgin colada is definitely a must try!

Blue Jasmine Southeast Asian Fine Dining

My partner and I visited Blue Jasmine this evening and had a truly fantastic experience. The Peking duck was absolutely incredible — highly recommended for anyone dining here. Connor was extremely wonderful and courteous, making us feel so welcome throughout the evening. Our waiter, Hatim, also did a fantastic job with attentive and friendly service. With such amazing food and such a warm, professional team, we’ll definitely be coming back again.

Shamblehurst Barn

It really is a very well priced pub, that serves surprisingly good food - with amazing chips - in a friendly manner, and all within a lively atmosphere! It is attractive both inside and out, and it also caters for dogs and children (but in a manner whereby drinkers can ignore the family areas if they so choose)! Yes, it is a Hungry-Horse, so it's not The Ritz, but... it meets the brief for a fun-n-good lunchtime visit!

Piecaramba!

The best GLUTEN FREE pies, puddings, and pizzas. I have eaten here 20+ times with stellar service and food every time. The staff are so friendly and attentive. Simon, Connor, and Jade accommodated a large booking for us and helped us with group photos and speedy service. 10/10 recommend if you’re in soton

Tom, Alia, and the rest of the staff are amazing. Great food and veg/gluten free options on the menu. Food tasted great and a really comfortable atmosphere. Huge patio out back!

Great chippy, regular stop off for us on our wilts to hants journey, we travel past many chippys before and after this 1!
We've had a few fish (including our favourite haddock), chips, burgers, saveloy, battered sausage, onion rings, beans, all cooked to a high standard by friendly fryer/owner and served well by all his staff.
