5 S Embankment, DartmouthWe were so kindly gifted an amazing lunch voucher - complete with a bottle of Prosecco—for The SeaHorse in Dartmouth, and it turned out to be one of the best restaurant meals we’ve ever had!
We started off at Joe’s Bar where we enjoyed lovely aperitifs, before being shown through to the dining room. The 3-course seafood meal was absolutely incredible, and Roy didn’t have much trouble at all finishing off that bottle of Prosecco.
We lingered for a wonderful 2 and a half hours, and left feeling so happy and satisfied. If you’re ever in Dartmouth, The SeaHorse is an absolute must-visit—we can’t recommend it enough! M

Hake and mash perfect, scampi and chips generous portion and tasty. Great table in the window, perfect, staff friendly. I will deffo be back!

Higher St, Kingswear, DartmouthExcellent pub with really good food in Kingswear, just above the train station. Couldn't get a table anywhere in Dartmouth but the Ship Inn kitchen stayed open for us later than listed and bar staff couldn't have been more helpful or unflustered. Sat outside with views across the river. Lovely.

Nestled down the cobbled twists and turns or the small and beautiful streets of Dartmouth you’ll find Devon’s best kept secret. From the moment you walk in to be greeted with beaming smiles, smells of enticement/mystery and crisp, immaculate dressed staff, you know as you take your seat the next few hours will blow you away. As menus are delivered my eyes start to race across the page, filled with excitement & salivating at the words before me. we sat back to let Luca’s team do what they do best. (All the dishes we had are highlighted on the menu on the end picture) Kicking off with sour dough focaccia & Coppa - easily the best we’ve ever had! - Scallop, bisque and carrot kimchi blows our pallet wide open! Cookery perfection! - local Torbay lobster a trio which was out of this world fresh! - Chicken as moist as you could ever want, braised fennel, sausage and spinach was like being back in Tuscany! - hen of the woods a real favourite of mine, Parmesan cream and egg yolk was knock out! Last but not least La bœuf Now il be honest the beef fillet… My wife, in-fact everyone will admit I never order beef, steak or fillet when out. However when Luca told me about it’s his take on “new York deli style pastrami we were sold!! boy did it not disappoint!! This took us right back to that iconic state side staple! So good I couldn’t even photograph it quick enough. The wines we had were exceptional! It’s taken 5 years to get to see Luca this will not be the last time though. This is by far the best meal we’ve had in Devon, packed with flavour, style, heart and memories! We can not recommend it enough. A exceptional night, with exceptionally talented people. Thank you all.

27-29 Victoria Rd, Dartmouthcant believe it’s not busier, so less stars for atmosphere , but went with another couple so ok. Immaculately clean, tastefully decorated and food delicious. Had goats cheese starter, perfectly warm, followed by venison served pink with roasted veg, absolutely delicious, hubby had sea bass which was really fresh. Wine lovely, staff friendly, so worth 500 m walk off the main front. Small menu but perfectly executed. Thank you for delicious meal.

S Embankment, DartmouthFabulous food! Fabulous service! Fabulous views! I had the catch of the day on both my visits. The staff were friendly, warm and helpful. I'm not used to eating fish straight from the sea but bravely gave it a go - so glad I did! Absolutely delicious! Perfect with a crisp white wine and overlooking the bobbing boats on the Estuary - and was lovely as dusk came with the twinkling lights emerging as you melted in the atmosphere. Other restaurants are set back across the road so if you want to treat yourself or someone special then the vista over the water is a rare treat worth the extra. I was delightfully seduced by the classic old style music that further transcended the dining experience. All my Newbie to fresh fish questions answered fully and food arrived in good time which was cooked perfectly and balanced superbly with delicate complimentary flavours. Can't wait to go back. Keep up the good work!

8 Smith St, DartmouthGreat location, central to Dartmouth, but off the touristy footpath… so it’s more genuine… and clearly been a pub for… a few (or more) hundred years.
Low ceiling, timber frame, friendly staff, great local beers, and amazing food.
Highly recommend the mussels… they were soft, tender and beautiful, in a lovely white wine and cream sauce, with shallots and samphire (I think… I’m not the chef, but that’s my best guess).
Highly recommended.

We visited most days during our stay in Stoke Flemming. Whether it was just for drinks or for food the pub had a lovely busy vibe!
We had 2 meals here, Sunday roast & a midweek meal of Slow cooked Belly Pork which were really delicious & the gravy was very tasty!
Would definitely recommend The Green Dragon if visiting the area!

Only three parking spaces on kerb by pub, but plenty of parking nearby. Just be aware that you are close to the ferry which operates up to 11pm which can be a little noisy

26 Lower St, DartmouthExcellent Sunday lunch at the Dartmouth Arms today, generous thick slices of succulent roast turkey with all the trimmings, and lots of nicely cooked veg. Wish I could have managed a sweet, if it was as good as the roast! We were really well looked after by Jackson, nothing was too much trouble.
We'll definitely need to make a return visit very soon!

7 Fairfax Pl, DartmouthWe love going to Dartmouth and always try to stop off at The Wheelhouse for fish & chips. The fish is always excellent quality and prices are very reasonable. The last visit was in September and they had a small meal offer for £12.50. We chose this and they were excellent, just the right size for us, and we were still full! My wife prefers gluten free batter which is normally available. Recommend the Haddock & chips. Service is quick and friendly. We'll be back!

I went for one each day they were so good. They also sell pots of other fresh fish, including mussels, prawns, lobster bits, etc. great value. Thank you

The Royal Castle
11 The Quay, DartmouthCouldn't fault the service at the Royal Castle. Every member of staff we had contact with was a joy, from housekeeping to the breakfast staff and everyone in between. The recent refurb has enhanced a beautiful old building in a prime position overlooking the harbour. Pay extra for the harbour view, you won't regret sitting watching the world go by with your favourite drink in hand. Quirky features mean some compromises in the rooms (awkward or tight spots, no lift etc) but who cares when the place is gorgeous. Food was excellent. A smallish menu means food was fresh and well thought out. Not like a pub chain at all. My husband claimed the throne seat in the bar, a favourite people watching spot and we enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Lower St, DartmouthStopped in on a very rainy afternoon for lunch, no seats were available inside but a friendly member of staff suggested we sat in the covered terrace ,& he'd bring us indoors as soon as a table became available - which didn't take long. We orderd an Alfs Big breakfast - well cooked with good quality local nice sausage & bacon and represented good value for money, a bacon baguette and a smoked salmon eggs benedict ' lovely hollandaise sauce and two great flat whites. Perfect cosy place for a rainy day.

Had the Traditional Cornish Pasty and, likely, the best I've had. Perfect proportion of swede, onion, and beef. The Cinnamon bun was also perfect, juicy yet crunchy on the outside. 10/10 on food.
They source coffee from Union, which are a very good roaster, albeit a bit on the darker side. Had a flat white and, again, perfectly delivered. Very quick service, too.
