The Fisherman's Wife Whitby
Khyber Pass, WhitbyMy favourites amongst the dishes we ordered are the fish pie and fish cakes. They were absolutely delicious. I personally find the lobster slightly overcooked but it’s fresh and tasty.
The restaurant has a very nice view looking out the sea. If you want a window seat I would recommend booking for earlier lunch or dinner which we did.
Price wise, I think it is pricier than another establishment we dined at

Abbey Wharf Indoor Market
Market Pl, WhitbyLast minute decision for a Birthday tea as our Hotel cancelled food that evening and we needed somewhere dog friendly to eat and we were certainly not disappointed. We had the calamari rings and whitebait as a starter and can honestly say they were best we have had then followed by the morney which again was delicious and perfectly cooked . I managed to squeeze in the sticky toffee pudding which was a very good size and very satisfying. The staff were very friendly and efficient, I would definitely recommend the Abbey wharf !!!

We booked the last slot of the day which was 2pm, arrived 5 minutes early and was seated straight away. Lovely young lady served us, very polite and bubbly.
Food took around 20 minutes to be served, and was really well presented.

Cranberry Swamp
24 Skinner St, WhitbyWe stumbled across Cranberry Swamp after we vacated our holiday accomodation. What a great find. \nMy partner uses mobility aids and we were offered a seat while waiting for a table. The server offered us both glasses of water while we waited which was around 10 minutes. \nThe cafe was busy and we were informed there would be a 20-30min wait for food as everything was freshly cooked to order. \nI had a Swamp breakfast and my partner who has a gluten intolerance had Mexican eggs. We both had coffee and soya milk was available. \nThe food was well presented, very tasty and good value for money. \nThis was our first visit to Whitby and to Cranberry Swamp and we intend to visit both again. \nWhat a great cafe with good food and friendly staff.

Velveteen French Cafe, Bar & Brasserie
3a Grape Ln, WhitbyWhat a fabulous restaurant, the atmosphere is straight out of Paris, amazing decor. The staff are brilliant, our waiter Daqwan had such a pleasant friendly manner and his smart appearance made a great first impression. Thank you Daqwan, great to meet you. The owner of the premises also visited each table a fabulous fella who made us feel as though our custom was valued. We also bumped into him in his French cocktail bar five minutes walk away, again well worth a visit. The star of the show was the food though, indulgent and delicious, worth every penny and for the quality you are getting the price was very reasonable. The scallop starter in particular was a dish that i never wanted to end. If you're visiting Whitby and you want a nice romantic meal with your wife then don't hesitate to book a table here, you wont regret it.

10 Flowergate, WhitbyIf you're a fan of Sherlock Holmes, you will absolutely love this place, it is packed with decorations and merchandise for sale that is both Sherlock-themed and Whitby-related.\n\nWhat drew me to the coffee shop was that they had York Ghost figures displayed in the window - we came to Whitby for a holiday but wouldn't have time to visit York so I was worried I wouldn't be able to find any. They had the traditional ghosts and little ghost cats! The day we went, they were just setting up a new gift shop in the back for the ghosts that was due to open that week; they kindly let me purchase some early, as we were there for a limited amount of time. Trenchers
New Quay Rd, WhitbyVisited today and as well as the food being fantastic so were the staff. Two of our party are disabled (wheelchair users) and the staff were respectful, polite and helpful. They were more than happy to “tweak” the menu to help them.

Sandside Cafe
E Row Bridge, WhitbyBeen coming to this cafe for almost a decade now on an annual holiday to Sandsend, always hits the spot - typically grab a Full English with a view of the beach, but a wide selection of cakes and drinks also available (plus ice creams in high season).
Friendly and helpful staff, plus decent amounts of seating and parking nearby on the promenade. Highly recommend!

Whitby Brewery Ltd
East Cliff, WhitbyGreat place to enjoy the local produce, great views, atmosphere and even a pizza! They also had some live music which was a big + to the evening, local beers were great and the views in the background could not be better! A must do in Whitby.
