Great food, surprisingly cheap for the area. I had the Sourdough wrap of the Day which was beautiful.
Downside: We went on a Sunday at 2.30pm. We were sat immediately in an almost empty cafe and staff were sweeping and mopping around us, putting chairs on tables and turning off the main lights when we had only just been served our lunch. I was panicked as I didn't want to get in the way of closing, but upon researching their opening times online, on the website and even asking staff, the conclusion was that they normally close at 5pm, however the girl working said they're quiet so were just waiting for us to leave before locking up. Talk about a killer of a mood.

We just want to eat something before we move on to ullswater and pop in here. We step in and was welcoming feeling then we get seated and ordered breakfast ?. 2 vegetarian meal and for our daughter and her friend full urban breakfast.
When we get served wow ready the look was amazing. The taste even more wow thank you urban house definitely if we in the area we pop in!!!!!!

Old fashioned interior, which I think let's the atmosphere down somewhat. Needs modernisation.
The service was very good.
The food... the mozzarella was a little dry. The crayfish was fine. We both had the beef however, outstanding job, outstanding. Beef was perfectly cooked and the mash was super smooth. I'd like a little more gravy but that's just me. Cheesecake was a little pretentious with paintbrushed chocolate sauce on the plate. It's perfectly good without it.
Just need to sort out the look and feel of the place really.

A lovely little restaurant in Bowness on Windermere. Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere. Great place to eat, with a good variety on the menu. We both had the single beef cheese burger. It came with lots of fries, side salad and coleslaw. Probably the best burger I've had in a long time. Would thoroughly recommend it if you're ever in Bowness.

We spent some time in the Lake District recently, and found ourselves with a few spare hours on the last day before travelling home, where the weather had turned suddenly, and decided to go to the Lake View restaurant for an extended brunch/mixed grill. From start to finish, the staff were going out of their way to be so helpful, so what we thought would have just been a miscellaneous unplanned stop was very pleasant, and we'll have to return next time.

We visited a copy of Weeks ago, during a Staycation in the Area.The Shop is located just outside of the main Shopping Area, but this didn't deter Customers, and it was busy. It's not the biggest Interior, so the queue did stretch outside of the Shop (but this is to be expected of a popular Shop in a Tourist Area, and wasn't an issue).Couldn't fault the Customer Service. Both individuals behind the Counter were really polite, friendly, and welcoming.Fantastic Selection of Ice Cream Flavours ( I had a Double Cone of Rum 'n Raisin/Cookie Dough, My Wife had a Double Cone of Cinder Toffee/Salted Caramel, Our Daughter had a Tub of Bubblegum Flavour, and our Son had a Single Cone of Vanilla). Absolutely delicious.Highly recommended, and we'll see you again, soon.

Prince of India is a must try! If you’re ever in windermere and are craving Indian cuisine, this is the perfect spot! The food was absolutely delicious and authentic. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. One thing to note is the restaurant only accepts cash. Other than that, everything from the food to the service was perfect. I definitely recommend the Tandoori Butter Chicken, Meat Biryani, and Korma!

The most amazing couple of managers ever are running this lovely little place. It’s cosy, warm, nicely decorated. The food was great, very tasty and more than excellent portions. The atmosphere feels very warm and relaxing and was perfect for a nice dinner. The couple running this place are so friendly, happy to talk and recommend places in the Lake District. We had a lovely evening all thanks to these lovely people working ever so hard to please customers. Would definitely recommend!

Marble cake was tough and a bit dry. But looking at other people’s orders, it did look really good.

Would advise people to go queue early (factor in at least 30mins.. we started queuing at 9.35 and got seated at 10.00) , and another 30min for food to arrive.

The prices are really reasonable, which is always a bonus in the Lakes. I’d highly recommend the Philly cheese steak sandwich/toastie—it was absolutely delicious! The brownies are also amazing, and they do homemade soup too, which isn’t on the menu, so you have to ask about it (like a fun little secret dish!).

The lady who owns and runs the café is so friendly and welcoming—she really creates a warm, relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to come back again. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

We were fortunate to get a table in the height of the summer season but so grateful we did. Not only was our waitress one of the nicest we have ever had but the food was absolutely outstanding. We skipped the starters and went straight for the main. Out of the four of us, three concluded that it was best main course of that particular food we had ever eaten. My sea bass and risotto was as good as anything I have eaten in a Michelin Star. My wife, who had the pork belly, felt the same. My daughter, who is gluten free, had the carbonara and also said it was the best pasta dish she had ever eaten. My other daughter had the lasagne and although not ‘the best’ she had eaten, it was in her top 3…haha. The desserts were also of the highest quality. Tiramisu for myself and gluten free brownie for the girls. Outstanding from start to finish. Couldn’t recommend highly enough. The perfect end to our trip to The Lakes.

Dingdong the witch is dead. And so is your hunger. The sausage roll meal deal for sausage rolls for the price of three is exceptional value for money. As you enter the premises, the smell of perfectly cooked pastries, Wafd and dance up your nostrils. The coffee is tease, hot drinks cakes, another sweet sundries are all on display for you to see in neat glass cabinets. I would recommend the quality breakfast meal deal where you can get a hot drink and a warm breakfast roll or a personal highlight. Overall a very good dining experience on a budget. Will visit again. The staff were incredibly friendly! Let my husband and I rest our paddle boards with us whilst we had our food! Didn’t realise we would get peas and sauce with our food which was a lovely touch! Will definitely be going back when we’re in Windermere!

This is an utter gem of a place to stay. The staff were so accommodating when we said that we were running late, so friendly and helpful. The decor throughout and the rooms are gorgeous and charming. Parking was no issue for us and we have a rather large 4x4. The breakfast was delicious, highly recommend the salmon/scrambled eggs!

I can't wait to stay at Rum Doodle again.
